Re: lets try this..

  • Also a little off topic but I keep seeing people post names like this: Ow.en. what's with the random periods? Is that so someone can't search the name in the search bar?

Thank you for your detailed reply! I think our preference is "different" names as in not your traditional john Chris Jennifer. Not necessarily unique. Unfortunately, there's not very many boy names that are different AND unique. I don't want a way off the wall name that people question if its a real name, but I don't want the standard Joe or Chris names either. I think that's why Grayson was fine with us, because even if its popular, it's different. But like I said before, I think I'm talking myself out of Grayson anyway.
Emma Christine and Madeline Christine are nice.  Since their popularity doesn't bother you, go ahead - just don't be surprised when you meet lots of other Emmas and Maddies.

I think that your definition of "traditional" is names that were popular when you were growing up.   There are lots of names that are "different" ie not been super popular for the last 50 years, but not trendy or modern inventions.

Did you have any other names for boys other than Grayson?

Do these names fit your criteria?
    Declan
    Wyatt
    Rhys
    Connor
    Cameron
    Grant
    Garrett
    Jonah
    Leo
    Silas
    Cyrus

btw, I think that in your situation, using Paul as a middle is fine.
Thanks, we are quite fond of using Paul as a mn, even if SS has it already. What's the difference between giving him dh's middle name or his brother's middle name when you really think of it? I have the same middle name as my mom, and it was to honor the same person, my grandma. This way, Paul is honoring two people, and I think that's cool.

Our LN starts with R, so Connor didn't sound right with it.

    Other names we have liked:

    Ashton, and Ethan

I like, Logan, Nathan, and Cameron also, but dh isn't sold.

It seems like we like names that end in N. We already have Owen, and I like the way names like Owen and Ethan sound together.
