Hi ladies! Its been a while since I've been able to post since, well...twins. Yeah.
This might get long-ish and be kind of all over the place. Sorry. I'm tired. =]
My OB put me on bed rest at 32 weeks. First week was spent in the hospital on magnesium and being given the steroid shots to develop the babies lungs. I was having contractions every two minutes and had high bp. My cervix was also thinning and had a lot of pressure on it. I was sent home after one week in the hospital and was on strict bed rest until the babies came.
On December 16th (35 weeks exactly) my mucous plug started to go and I was having sporadic contractions. I decided to call my OB just to be safe and he wanted me to come in to get checked. He checked me and said "Well, you're having babies tonight!" and walked me down the hall to the hospital where I was admitted to labor and delivery! I was excited and terrified. More terrified because I was still a bit early.
I got all hooked up and ready to go and was in the OR about four hours later.
Isaac Benjamin was born (screaming his little head off!) at 9:38pm on December 16th, 2014 weighing in at 6 lbs 4oz and was 18.5 inches long. Quinn Pauline was born at 9:39pm on December 16th, 2014 weighing in at 5 lbs 6oz and was also 18.5 inches long. Isaac did not need any help, but Quinn needed a bit of help breathing at first. All was well after a few minutes and I was able to see them and DH was able to hold them before they were taken to the NICU. Still one of the scariest few minutes of my life! Both babies spent five days in the NICU learning to eat and getting their bilirubin levels down.
We went home on December 21st and they have been doing great! They are pretty decent sleepers and get up every three to four hours to eat. I am pumping and supplementing formula since my supply is not really great right now. I am healing well from my c-section. That first week was absolute hell for me though. If I can give one piece of advice to those of you having a c-section, for the love of all that is holy keep up with your pain meds. Don't try to be super mom and think you can handle it without them. C-sections are no freaking joke! I was on scheduled pain meds at the hospital rotating percocet and ibuprofin. If I missed even one by a little bit (like fifteen minutes late) I could tell that things were going to go downhill quickly. That happened twice when I was in the NICU feeding the babies and did not think to call the nurse to have my next dose given to me while I was in there. It is easy to forget you need to take them when you are feeling ok, but then it just kind of hits you! Just take your pain meds, ok?

My hx: uterus/hormones normal Dx: low AMH 0.5 = poor ovarian reserve
hubby hx: low sperm count, poor motility, started on clomid, retest in May showed no improvement, will be on clomid another 3 months, another retest scheduled for August

About to switch to injectables w/femara, did one last cycle with just femara & an IUI with ovidrel- stupid motility was fantastic in the sample, but count was 700,000 AFTER wash! Had to sign a paper to even still do IUI- BFFP (big fat freaking positive) Go figure!
1st Beta 13dpiui 54, 2nd beta 48 hours later 115, 3rd beta 48 hours later 310, 4th beta 72 hours later 1748.
