Hot beverage?
Favorite - hot chocolate? I don't really drink anything hot.
Least favorite - coffee. Yes, you read that right.
Herb or spice?
Favorite - rosemary.
Least favorite - not sure?
Vegetable?
Favorite - zucchini or corn on the cob.
Least favorite - Brussel sprouts.
Dessert?
Favorite - ALL OF THE DESSERTS! Seriously, anything with ice cream, chocolate and/ or cheesecake.
Least favorite - I can't even think of one.
Meal your SO cooks?
Favorite - homemade Alfredo with potatoes and chicken.
Least favorite - unsure. She rarely cooks lol.
Cuisine from a country/culture other than your own?
Favorite - it's a serious toss up between Asian and Mexican inspired dishes. Both are delicious!
Way to eat eggs?
Favorite - over easy.
Least favorite - scrambled (unless they're under a mountain of cheese).
Name something you always have to have in your fridge or pantry (other than the standard staples).
Cilantro.
If your SO gave you a box of candy for Valentine's Day, what would you hope to find in it?
I love all of the box candy chocolates!
*DS 6/28/2013*
Favorite - skim mocha
Least - Chai
Herb or spice?
Favorite - basil
Least - Curry
Vegetable?
Favorite - zucchini or corn on the cob
Least - cooked carrots (raw ones are fine)
Dessert?
Favorite - chocolate mousse
Least - Can't think of anything
Meal your SO cooks?
She rarely cooks - turkey chili is good. She is more of a baker
Cuisine from a country/culture other than your own?
Favorite - Mexican or Asian
Least - Indian
Way to eat eggs?
Favorite - Scrambled (but slightly soft)
Least - Fried
Name something you always have to have in your fridge or pantry (other than the standard staples).
Apple slices for the kids (yes, we buy pre-cut apple slices.) L always has ICE water (flavored sparkling water.) I always have a Lean Cuisine tucked in the back for fast dinner emergencies for myself!
If your SO gave you a box of candy for Valentine's Day, what would you hope to find in it?
Lindt chocolate truffles
Favorite - Chai tea. My current jam is the cardamom flavor chai mix from Jaipur Avenue, which I can only find (and then only sometimes) on Amazon.
Least favorite - Coffee. Yep, I don't drink coffee. Never have. (I don't mean I've never tried it, just that I've never been a fan and never drank a whole cup in my life).
Herb or spice:
Favorite - Cardamom (see hot beverage).
Least favorite - Cilantro.
Vegetable:
Favorite - Huh. This is harder than I thought. Asparagus?
Least favorite - Kohlrabi doesn't really do anything for me.
Dessert:
Favorite - Brownie cheesecake from Smitten Kitchen, drizzled with salted caramel sauce. I often ask my sister to make this for my birthday. Runners-up: Nigella Lawson's chocolate Guinness cake, really good ice cream, ALL THE CARAMEL (bonus if it's salted).
Least favorite - I know, I know, least favorite dessert, is this even a thing? I'm not a big hazelnut fan, so I'm not likely to ever select hazelnut anything (yes, that includes Nutella), though I'll eat it in a dessert emergency.
Meal your SO cooks:
Favorite - She cooked in a seafood restaurant for a while, so I'm not sure if I'm thinking seafood here because she's particularly good at it or because I am not great at cooking it myself so I'm always happy to have her do it. In particular, she steams a mean clam, makes a mean lobster chowder, and I love the way she cooks fish (especially skate wing or sole) in brown butter and lemon.
Least favorite - Not a meal, but she always puts balsamic vinegar in kale when she sautees it. I don't get it.
Cuisine:
Favorite - Turkish, maybe?
Least favorite - I'm not super into Thai, but I think it's because it's hard to find good Thai food around here.
Eggs:
Favorite - Really creamy (not runny) scrambled eggs with herbs and cheese in them, or fried over-easy.
Least favorite - Overcooked (browned) scrambled eggs really gross me out.
We always have real-deal Grade B maple syrup. I can't live without it.
Box o' candy:
These. Holy shit. https://www.vosgeschocolate.com/product/caramel_marshmallows_9cs/vosges-chocolate-snacks-and-treats

Vegetable? spinach/brussels sprouts
Dessert? anything chocolate/anything coconut
Meal your SO cooks? anything that she cooks because it means I didn't have to. (I don't enjoy cooking) / she can not go wrong
Cuisine from a country/culture other than your own? Italian/Indian
Way to eat eggs? Over easy/ hard boiled
Name something you always have to have in your fridge or pantry (other than the standard staples). Louisiana Hot Sauce
If your SO gave you a box of candy for Valentine's Day, what would you hope to find in it? See's Milk Chocolate Nuts & Chews
7/22/15 - It's a boy!
Hot beverage?
Herb or spice?
Vegetable?
Dessert? Favorite: Ice Cream (particularly sundaes)
Meal your SO cooks?
Cuisine from a country/culture other than your own?
Least: Poached
Hot beverage?
Favorite - Coffee
Least - herbal tea (there are a few teas I like okay, but overall not a fan)
Herb or spice?
Favorite dried - cumin, curry
Favorite fresh - basil, thyme, cilantro
Least - I can't think of anything. I'm not a big fan of mint and usually leave it out if a recipe calls for it, but I can stand to eat it.
Vegetable?
Favorite - Brussels, broccoli
Least - canned green beans make me gag
Dessert?
Favorite - brownie, ice cream, and pecans
Least - key lime pie
Meal your SO cooks?
Favorite - Stir fry, grilled corn, tomatillo salsa
Least - I got nothing. She doesn't cook a lot and I like what she does.
Cuisine from a country/culture other than your own?
Favorite - indian
Least - I don't know. Maybe German? Polish? I don't think I've had either, but I think of sausage and yuck.
Way to eat eggs?
Favorite - no longer eat eggs, but I used to love a fried egg with a runny yolk
Least - boiled
Name something you always have to have in your fridge or pantry (other than the standard staples).
Sriracha, red curry paste, tahini, nutritional yeast
If your SO gave you a box of candy for Valentine's Day, what would you hope to find in it?
A bar of dark salted chocolate
Herb or spice? ... Fave - does garlic count? Because I love garlic! I also enjoy basil. I HATE mint. Ick!
Vegetable? ... Faves (I can't pick!) = spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus ... I am also currently having a love affair with raw baby carrots dipped in hummus! Least fave - I don't care for beets or turnips.
Dessert? - there are too many to list but some faves are classic vanilla bday cake, pumpkin pie, cheesecake, brownies, any kind of ice cream, anything with custard ...
I am not really a fan of anything lemon flavored in the dessert category.
Meal your SO cooks? Well, she doesn't cook much. She basically has one dish (a veggie casserole bake with Panko bread crumbs). It's delish. She makes it about once a month, but I could eat it once a week!
Cuisine from a country/culture other than your own? ... Hmmmm this one is tough. I guess fave would be Italian, but that feels kind of like a cop out answer. So I will say sushi (Japanese) since that us a current obsession.
Least favorite would probably be Mexican or Indian. I don't like spicy at all and I am not a fan of heavy sauces in general, so it end to shy away from both. I could probably find things I liked if I tried, but I honestly haven't put in any effort to like either kind of food...
Way to eat eggs? ... Fave = scrambled or hard boiled. Least fave = anything dippy or runny - ick, just not my bag
Name something you always have to have in your fridge or pantry (other than the standard staples). ... Black olives and kosher dill pickles!

Me - 30, My wife - 31 , Together for 10 yrs - Married August 2012

Favorite - Coffee, duh. But I can get on board with a nice drinking chocolate too.
Least favorite - Green tea. I feel like I'm drinking hot water that hay from a barn floor was soaked in.
Herb or spice?
Favorite - So many...from our yard - sage, rosemary, oregano, thyme. Powdered - cumin, curry.
Least favorite - None I can really think of. Well, I overdid it on basil for a while so sometimes fresh can overpower things for me, but I still like it ok.
Vegetable?
Favorite - Brussels sprouts (why so many haters ;-)!) - mushrooms are a close second.
Least favorite - Okra. Blech. It's a slime-bot in my mouth. Yes, even fried....
Dessert?
Favorite - Most anything with chocolate but I love a good ice cream sundae; cakes; pie, fancy restaurant desserts that are to precious to eat... Ok, yeah, all.
Least favorite - I usually won't waste the calories on poorly made desserts (apple pie with undercooked apples).
Meal your SO cooks?
Favorite - Ok, this is weird - but - honestly she's not so into cooking but has about 9 or 10 methods of brewing single cups of coffee. I love what she makes me coffees with different methods to try/taste differences, etc. She follows recipes but really doesn't cook too often.
Least favorite - Well, I make oatmeal better imho.
Cuisine from a country/culture other than your own?
Favorite - Hard one! Ok, I thought Simone might come out as a bowl of chips and salsa, as I did eat a *lot* of Mexican while pregnant and it is my go-to for fast/easy/no fail cheaper meals out. My neighborhood, Fremont, is jokingly called "Thai-mont" because there are like 6 Thai places in an equal number of blocks. I love French and Indian food too.
Least Favorite: Well, with J being a lactard and this being Seattle, there isn't much good Italian and it tends to feel really heavy/carby and lactose-laden, so we don't go much (this very specifically excludes pizza, which I can get for 1 easily at lunch or while J is at work).
Way to eat eggs?
Favorite - Poached, medium.
Least favorite - Cold hard-boiled (hot hard-boiled is just fine)
Name something you always have to have in your fridge or pantry (other than the standard staples).
Cheese and crackers.
If your SO gave you a box of candy for Valentine's Day, what would you hope to find in it?
There is an uber fancy chocolate factory down the street, they have amazing confections - so I'd say a box of their adventurous chocolates (things like ginger, ghost chile, scotch)...mostly because it's something different that I wouldn't think to have in 'regular' life!
p.s. You know, @crazyaunt84, that whole cilantro thing is a gene! People with that gene actually taste cilantro as it if was soap to the rest of us. Poor them, imho, as I love cilantro!
Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!

Dec' 26, 2013 - hb!!
EDD 8/20/14 with a baby girl!
Little S was born on 8/21/14 - 8lb, 14 oz and 20 inches long.
We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle
Hot beverage? Favourite - Tea! It's a common family joke that I was weaned on tea. I love Earl Grey but haven't had much of it for the pregnancy's duration until the last few days, as I've been trying to watch my caffeine. Least favourite - Strong Coffee. I can handle the flavour in really dilute drinks (especially if I indulge with a hazelnut syrup) but at normal strength? :P
Herb or spice? We both love oregano and usually keep a jar of dried on the table in place of salt. Wouldn't really say there is a least favourite - Maybe rosemary, if there's too much of it?
Vegetable? @2MamazInSeattle totally with you on the sprouts - they are so under appreciated! My first vegetable love will always be potato though. Least favourite - I know it's technically a fruit but I really don't like tomatoes (except in a smooth sauce/soup/etc) I find they taste like vinegar
Dessert? Favourite - Do I have to choose? At the moment, possibly because of the weather, I'm on a kick enjoying all the 'school dinner' favourites: sponge & custard, rice pudding, semolina.... Least favourite - Pavlova
Meal your SO cooks? Favourite - Papas a la Huancaina (Potatoes with a creamy, spicy sauce) from A's native Peru. It's traditionally served as a starter but we both really enjoy it as a main. Least Favourite - Lamb (she always uses too much garlic and baby and I usually end up paying the price) but I'll never tell
Cuisine from a country/culture other than your own? Favourite - I don't know if it's cheating to say 'Peruvian' here, since there are so many cultures that influence this (including European, Japanese and West African) but it is considered a world cuisine. Least favourite - Chinese. Most mains sit funny with me.
Way to eat eggs? Eggs and I have had a complicated relationship all through this pregnancy. During the first trimester especially - I developed an aversion to them and A could only have them if I wasn't home and she had time to air out every room. Favourite - Probably omelette, as there are so many things you can do with this that it never gets boring. Least favourite - currently, any time the yolk and white aren't mixed together.
Name something you always have to have in your fridge or pantry (other than the standard staples). Tari - The pepper used to make this creamy, spicy condiment is only grown in Peru and so any time we/Europe based family visit, there is always room made in the suitcase for jars and sachets of the Tari base.
If your SO gave you a box of candy for Valentine's Day, what would you hope to find in it? If this means the luxury unwrapped stuff, then I usually go for things with nuts first, then the melting centre caramels. If it's the foil and cellophane wrapped kind, I always look for coffee cremes (I do like coffee flavour, just not strength)
You got me on the coffee though. I'll eat hazelnuts, but eh. We can always eat Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and ice cream sundaes together. Did I mention I have two kinds of homemade ice cream sauces in my fridge right now? Must eat before the Clean Up begins.
