Lately I've been craving so much salt, like salty chips, I have to put salt on all my food. But I'm wondering if it's ohk to eat as much as I crave or if I should limit it? I know too much is bad but how much is too much?
I follow a low salt diet due to cardiac issues. I stick to 20 00 mg or less. Read labels carefully. There is much more sodium in food then you would think.
I've cut back on my salt intake the past few days bc I don't want to have too much. Now I'm wanting water all the time. I feel like I can't get enough. Thanks for the replies, I had no idea how much salt I should have and this helped out.

Craving salt can also be a sign of dehydration. Try a couple glasses of water before you reach for the salted pretzels.
Later you can consume salt (even a little bit) & retain water/swell. During third trimester I avoid salt even if I craved it.
