Both of my kids self weaned from the pacifier at about 5 months. I wanted it to last a bit longer because it can be helpful. But I think it was a blessing because I didn't have to wean from it so I'm okay with it.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
LO never took to one. I offered a few times when she was super upset as an infant, but it just made her more upset. It's funny though because she has a baby doll with a binkie and more often than not, she puts the binkie in her mouth every time she plays with it.
Abby's Precious is confined to bed time at night time only. Then she must have 2-3 to pet. She will occasionally sneak one downstairs-- but doesn't fuss when we bust her.
Alex doesn't really care. He will literally shrug & take one. It's entertaining but he's not overly attached. My boobs are his main soothing tool.
Allison never really took to it, she used it a little when she was teeny, but once she could take it out of her mouth it became a toy, so that was the end of it.....
