*~*~*~*~*May Flowers Check In 12/29/14 ~*~*~*~*~* — The Bump
TTC After a Loss

*~*~*~*~*May Flowers Check In 12/29/14 ~*~*~*~*~*

Hello my lovelies! Some changes around here on TB these days. EDD check ins will now be posted every other week on the first and third Monday of the month. Please do not bump the check in after the first week. Any news after that can be shared on the main board to encourage more activity there.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

BFP at the end of this, please skip if you are having a bad day.

Hello my May mommas I hope your week is starting off right. Please update us on what is going on with you both TTCAL and NTTCALR. Please feel free to PM me anytime if you are having a tough week. or if you get a BFP. xoxo

This is a check-in for anyone who had a loss or an EDD in May (of any year). I am so sorry for each one of your losses. I hope that this can be a place to give support and help each other through this difficult time. Members, give us an update on how you are doing. If I didn’t tag you with specific questions, it’s only because we didn’t hear from you last week (or for a few weeks) - please jump back in. Please pop in and let us know how you’re doing even if you don’t have time to respond to everyone individually this week! New members, introduce yourself so that we can get to know you.

If you get a BFP, please PM me and let me know so that we can congratulate you on PgAL. I try to lurk on PgAL often, but sometimes it’s tough and I might miss it. Please send me a PM also if you are taking a Bump Break.

  • hey lady! How are you holding up? Any news with you? Getting nervous/excited I imagine!
Nothing going in here on the ttc front. Just trying to stress less and realize that we may never have a child and trying to be ok with that. February marks five years, so we are both kind of burnt out on the trying.
But our anniversary is coming up. We are going to bike c&o canal. I'm excited, though less excited about the lack of showering for that week...
QOTW: we are going to a friend's house for a party. In our crowd that means booze and board games!

I might be dense, what's the c&o canal? Will you camp too? (I just finished reading "Wild" so clearly that's what I'm picturing)

  • Hi ladies, I am beyond stressed and anxious lately. I'm waiting on the genetic testing results on our 13 embryos. I'm trying to get my FET drugs ordered before the year ends bc we've met our deductible but first the pharmacy is closed now their systems are down. Ugh! I'm stressed at the shots mh will need to give me. Last night I went into panic about everything and got no sleep. At this point I don't know what scares me more - the FET not working or it actually working and being pg a 3rd time. I have an Hsg on the 5th and am hoping to start estrogen that night. FET is tentatively 1/26. I'm really hoping once I get started it will be easier and the waiting is what is pushing me over the edge right now.
Sorry to be a Debbie downer today.

QOTW - we will be drinking at a beach house with 2 other couples. Complete safe zone.

Hi everyone. Hope everyone had a happy holiday.

@Menrandes- Sorry you're having a rough time, but your anniversary adventure sounds fun. I hope you guys have a good time. Happy early anniversary!

@km380- What you're going through is exciting, but it also sounds stressful. I don't have any advice or words of wisdom, but I certainly wish you all the best.

@linkloveszelda26- I'm sorry about all the BFPs... I've definitely had days like that where there just seem to be so many. Hang in there.

TTCALR- If I'm going to get AF, today is the day, so I'm just waiting it out. I'm trying to not get my hopes up, but it's so hard.

My sister (who got engaged earlier this month) booked her venue for her wedding, which will be Sept. 26. My mom is stressing me out because she's afraid that if I do get pregnant, it'll conflict with the wedding date. I should only be so lucky.

NTTCALR- I'm off word until Jan. 5 and being a total bum today. DH has to work today and the next two days (he gets off Thursday and Friday), so it's just me and my dog (who is currently chasing her tail).

Edited because I forgot to include the answer to the QOTW.

QOTW- Just going out to dinner with two other couples we're friends with. I kind of hate NYE because there's always so much pressure to have plans.

  • @cavewmn- Thank you. I told her that if it does happen around the time of my sister's wedding, we'll have two happy occasions to celebrate.

I'm glad your in-laws were kind and understanding. The holidays are hard. Here's hoping 2015 will be a better year for all of us.

Also, wishing your husband good luck. I hope therapy will prove to be a positive experience.

Congrats on burning the bench, though. That's awesome! Fingers crossed for you :)

@cavewmn FX that therapy will be helpful for your DH. And I'm with you on staying home on New Years. It's probably my least favorite holiday.

@MellyMel15 FX that AF doesn't show up!

@sweetcalittc1 I'm sorry that your friend made such a hurtful comment. But yay for burning the bench!

    AFM:

TTCAL: We are still TTA. Originally we were going to burn the bench at the start of the New Year, but now we aren't so sure. I feel as ready as I'm going to be, but DH isn't so sure. We have been talking about NTNP a bit, but nothing is final yet. AF will be here is 5 days, and I am hoping that we have come to a decision by then.

NTTCAL: Christmas was nice. Very quiet since we didn't go home for the holidays. We got both of our cars towed yesterday morning, because we weren't familiar with the emergency snow rules and street parking. So that sucks. Other than that, it has been relatively quiet around here.

QOTD: We will be staying home. We don't ever do anything for New Years. If we are feeling really crazy, we might stay up until midnight :)

@Menrandes Yay! for having an anniversary coming up! I'm sorry you might be coming to the end of your TTC journey. *hugs*

@Km380 The waiting game always sucks. Hopefully once the ball gets rolling again your anxiety will go down.

@linkloveszelda26 *hugs* I'm sorry today has been a rough day for you.

    AFM:

NTTCALR: I am having more better days. Christmas was hard but I think having a HUGE cry on the 24th helped me not break down on Christmas. Luckily we spent it with the in laws who are understanding and didn't make things worse. I am starting to be hopeful that 2015 will be our year. 2015 will start out great because I will be getting a few orders in the mail!

TTCAL:  DH has decided to go to therapy and see if he can get help for his DE! This is a huge step. I really believe if this helps we will have a fantastic chance. Hopefully his sex drive will come back and he will be able to finish. Our chart may look good at times but X's means he didn't finish. :( He is taking a huge step for our TTC journey. Which means a lot to me. I was really worried it would take another 4 years just to get another positive.

QOTW: What are your New Years Eve plans?

I thought we were hanging out with DH coworker but he isn't sure. So either hanging out with Dh's coworker or staying at home! I really hope the second. lol
I'm glad your IL's are understanding. I'm very glad YH had decided to get help. I hope that this is a good decision for not just ttc but for your overall well being.

  • Hi ladies! I'm thinking of you all and hoping for more good days ahead now that the holidays are coming to an

    NTTCALR:
There were too many BFPs on FB at Christmas. One friend actually called MH and told us to hurry and get KU! Ugh. I stayed away from large family gatherings to stay sane. It mostly worked.

    TTCAL:
We got the go ahead to burn the bench this cycle!! I'm excited but very nervous. I thought I was totally ready to get back in the game but I'm starting to get concerned about what a BFN might do to me emotionally.

As of 12/27 I had 1 follie at 16mm and 2 at 12mm. I'm triggering tonight for IUI on Wednesday. I'm hoping the smaller ones catch up.

    QOTW:
Nothing fancy. Quiet night at home with MH.

I've said it before, fb is evil. I'd like a word with your friend too! TP to them, are they in need of a biology refresher? I am full of stats!
Go follies! Fx for you IUI!!!

@Menrandes Huge ((hugs)) to you:/ I hope you have a great anniversary :)

@Km380 I'm sorry to hear that things have been so stressful. ((hugs))

@linkloveszelda26 I'm so sorry to hear that you are having a rough day. 7 BFPs is a ridiculous amount to deal with.  ((hugs))

Oh no! Is it a huge hassle and expense to get your cars back?
I hope you and YH can come to an agreement. I only say this next thing bc it can be easy to forget - this is very hard on the men too. Watching us struggle physically and emotionally. "On demand" sex. Grieving. If YH is not ready yet don't push it. Your marriage needs to be a priority too. (Step off soap box lol)
We managed to get both of them out of impound yesterday, at the ridiculous price of $530:/ It was one expensive mistake that we won't be making twice!

DH says that he is questioning TTC for reasons other than emotional ones. But in reality, I think he's just trying to act strong for me. I think he feels like I'm going to fall apart if I see him anxious about it:/

Regardless of his reasons, if he's not ready, then we're not ready.

Thanks, @Km380. I promise to PM you if AF doesn't show. I know the rules.

Yes, things are getting tense with my sister's wedding. In fact, when I mentioned to my sister this morning that I'm waiting to see how things shake out this month, she asked me if I'd consider putting TTC on hold for a month so it won't conflict with her wedding. I told DH and he is outraged and angry, but says it's ultimately my decision. I also talked with one of my best friend about it and she says I'm being selfish and hurtful to my sister. She accused me of being "single-minded" about trying to have a baby, but she and I are in different places in our lives despite being the same age (she's getting married in May and has a very relaxed attitude about TTC).

Ugh. I don't know what to do. I tried to plan a pregnancy around my cousin's wedding (this past October) and the above-mentioned friend's wedding, and it didn't work. I think it's time for me to just live my life.

    Sorry, just needed to vent.

I want a pm bc I really want to know

Just my opinion but you are not being selfish. If you wait, your sister is asking you to wait to try until September. People think it is oh so easy to get pg, but unfortunately even if you have perfect timing, you still may not be pg at the wedding. Or you could be pg super early on and not even showing so what does that matter. Or you could be huge. Unless someone has a crystal ball they have no right to ask you to put your life on hold. People that have never actively tried to get pg or had an easy go of it really do not understand the absolute miracle that getting pg and having a healthy baby is. I used to think the "miracle of life" was just the birth. Now I think the whole damn thing is a miracle anyone manages it. Whatever you decide to do it is no ones decision but you and yh's.
(Hmm soap box 2 of the day?)

Thanks, @Km380. I didn't mean to be snippy about the PM thing-- I just would never want to hurt anyone on this board!

I feel like only the women on this board only truly understand what I'm going through. Some people just totally seem to take getting pregnant for granted or think you can just plan a pregnancy. Unfortunately, I now know it doesn't work that way.

I'm so frustrated, but grateful for your support. Thank you again.

I feel liked her expecting you to plan TTC around her wedding, is as ridiculous as you asking her to plan her wedding around you TTC. I wouldn't even dream of not TTC because of that. I'm sorry that they are make you feel guilty:/

  • Hi everyone!

@menrandes I'm also sorry you and YH are at such a tough spot in your TTC journey.  I hope you're able to relax on your anniversary trip (or I guess not relax but get your mind off things).

@km380 thanks for the check-in as always and I'm sorry about the stress surrounding your FET.  I'll be hoping for good genetic test results on the embryos and that the pharmacy gets its stuff together before the end of the year.

@linkloveszelda26 I'm sorry it's been a rough week for you.  The holidays have been brutal.  I hope things get better.

@cavewmn I'm glad you're having better days.  Christmas is hard.  I'm glad your husband is willing to go to therapy, that is a huge step!

@mellymel15 I hope this cycle works out for you, wedding conflict and all.  I personally think that you should live your life and not put off TTC, but that's just me.

@sweetcalittc1 Yay for bench burning!!!  Your follies sound good, if they grow a minimum of 2mm a day and your ultrasound was 12/27 am you should hopefully have around a 22 mm and two 18 mm which is great!  FX for you. I hope everything goes well on Wednesday.  I'm not too far behind you cycle-wise.

@elsiemae I hope you and YH figure out the right way to proceed for both of you.  Sorry about the car situation, what a disaster!  $530 hurts!

TTCALR:  I've really been struggling this week.  I posted my sob story on the main board, so won't get into the details, but Christmas was rough.  I'm only two days away from the 24 month mark of TTC and I think that's triggering my meltdown.  I'm going through the motions this cycle but looking back on it all has been tough.  It's hard to be hopeful for 2015 when 2013 and 2014 were such downers TTC-wise.

Specifically I'm plugging away at IUI cycle #2.  Had my first ultrasound this am and had a 14 mm and a 10 mm follicle on the right, a 10 mm and a 10.5 mm on the left.  Was really hoping to be further along at this point.  If they grow the way they should we will trigger the night of 1/1 and then have the IUI the am of 1/3 (Saturday).  I'm just worried I'm not responding to the Clomid like I should be.  I would like to increase the dose or try something different next cycle (this is cycle # 4 on 50 mg Clomid for me).

NTTCALR:  We're closing on our house at the end of January so that's exciting!  So far everything has worked out well with inspections, structural engineer (it was built in 1940), etc.  I'm amusing myself with looking at furniture, etc.  I'm also going to have my first day off since 12/14 on 1/1, so counting down the minutes until that!

QOTW:  MH and I are going to dinner with two other couples, then back to one of their houses for drinks.  I'm going to live it up as I'm finally off on 1/1 and will be triggering that night.

What cd are you on? It's ok if your follies need a little more time. I always react different on the same amount of clomid. Last time I had 2 big follies. This time I have the 1 big and 2 small. Before that I've had between 1 and 3 but never by the same cd. Slow and steady wins the race. At least that's what I'm telling myself! Keep your chin up. I'm so jealous that your closing on your house! We are going house hunting next month.

I'm CD12 today, finished Clomid 5 days ago.  I usually wouldn't O after Clomid for another couple of days, so I'm jut being whiney :)  House hunting is exciting!  I hope you guys find something

I'm no expert but I agree slow and steady is best. Have you asked about changing? I only did 1 cycle on clomid and then got changed to Letrozole (same as femara I think) I'll keep everything crossed for your IUI! Good luck closing! Hope it continues to go smoothly

To top it off, this is one of those friends that didn't ever want kids and still doesn't. I may have said "fuck you, you fucking fuck face" really loud at him through the phone after H hung up.
I think he may just be totally ignorant of how is words were taken and he actually meant "I don't want you guys to be sad that we are and you aren't so you need to be". Guys are stupid sometimes.

  • Hi ladies! @Km380‌ - sorry you've been so stressed. I imagine it being very stressful. Hopefully you get everything ordered and once you start the shots, it wouldn't be as bad as you imagine it.

Sorry I haven't been around much - I've been working tons of overtime, had company and visited family over the holidays. I'm in the train - but will try to get to everyone later.

I'm doing ok - still trying to not be so stressed out (resolution). Going to try to make it to yoga more and maybe start getting massages. I also will try to not work in the evening - once I leave work, I need to turn off that part of my brain. I'm still struggling with the lack of control over the whole situation.

A friend of mine at work (she had two losses this year) was saying yesterday how she's a control freak too and that makes it so much harder to let go. I'm so used to setting a goal and doing everything to achieve it. I suppose this is a "good" life lesson - I'm trying to find the silver lining in all of this.

QOTW: we were going to go with another couple to a pub, but they are sold out. We've decided to stay home - bought some champagne this weekend and will make some yummy food. I'm quite happy to have a quiet night at home. We aren't big New Years Eve people.

    (((Hugs))) to you ladies

  • Morning ladies,
I am doing my 4th IUI this cycle.   I went in for monitoring yesterday at CD10 and had 3 big follicles and was ready to trigger!   Talk about panicking.  I had no HCG shot, no needles, nothing and I was on my way to my parents who have no idea we are struggling to conceive.  SO last night I gave myself my trigger shot and we'll be doing the IUI on the 31st.  I've never O'd so early ever.

Sorry for not responding to everyone separately, I'll do that when I'm back at my own house tonight.

For NYE we don't have any plans yet.  We have to drive an hour for the IUI to a pretty cool town so we may just hang out there most of the day.

Hi ladies!

Hi lady! I'm sorry you've been so busy. I hope you can stick to your resolution and have some balance! I think one of the reasons I get so stressed is just the lack of control, we can work on that together. Your nye sounds lovely, I like staying in that night!

    PgAL welcome

  • Christmas here was good and bad.  DH and I had a wonderful Christmas Eve together then a really great time at my parents on Christmas.  I saw no pregnancy announcements and was thrilled.  The day AFTER Christmas I got whacked with 3 of them...not cool.

@Km380 I hope the genetic testing comes out good and that you are a go for the end of the month FET.

    (((@linkloveszelda26)))

@MellyMel15 FX for you!   I hope you don't stress too much about the wedding.

@sweetcalittc1 Ugh..that's the worst.  People need to mind their business.  But YAY for bench burning!!!

@ElsieMae I'm sorry your car got towed!

@nikiswimr FX for a good IUI
