So I having been having some more BP issues the last few days while monitoring at home and I am starting to realize that I am probably not going to be able to wait until I go into labor on my own. Last time I was in for a check up the Dr said we may have to induce if things keep going as they are. I know that lots of people have been in the same boat and induction isn't a big deal, but I am trying to wrap my head around it. It's a lot to take in. Just not the route I have hoping to take.
My 37 week appointment is on Wednesday. Depending on what my BP is this morning I may call my Dr to go in earlier.
Sorry this was so long, just feeling a bit down/stressed about it.
Good luck to our mommies in labor/ being induced today! Hope everyone has a great day despite it being Monday!
@raveness I'm sorry, heartburn is the worse. I had it with acid reflux for awhile but found adding yet another pillow to elevate my head helped.
@soon2bejp Good luck with your bp! And it's normal to be a bit down about a possible induction, but just remember no matter what, at the end, you will have your baby!! = )
Today is my supposed induction day. The hospital I work at/will be delivering at is very small, and can only board so many cases per day. They're booked this whole week, but obviously still have to take whatever walks through the door. My doctor was pissed that they were booked, and told me to come to L&D today and tell them I'm having contractions and that he will "take care of the rest." He's supposed to communicate to the on-call doctor (who is kinda bitchy) what the plan is. I'm afraid he forgot, and he's off for a week, so I can't reach him. I don't want to get my hopes up that today is actually the day, because they could just send me home since I'm only having a few contractions here and there if at all. I'm sitting here stressing out so much, as if having a baby isn't stress enough, I'm worrying about this too. Ugh. Here's to hoping it all works out and we get to meet baby Vivienne today. Heading in at 8am. Finger crossed!
@elleswarth I have everything crossed that today is the day for you! Keep us updated, it seems like you will have some time
I'm back at work after a nice, restful break. H doesn't have to go back until Friday so he's at home with C. They're going to see the trains at the Children's Museum today and she is so excited! I can't wait to see pics
@soon2bejp - I'm so sorry you're having BP issues. I know all too well how that feels. I hope it manages to stay under control for awhile longer so you can avoid being induced.
My closest friend here is being induced today and I'm pretty sure my sleep was restless because I'm excited and anxious for her, haha! (go @firefly3911 !!)
And Zoe threw in an extra "wake up" time overnight, too.. that didn't help. ZZzzzzz...
I'm excited because my H is taking her out today! They've never been out alone without me. He wants to go to the mall to use a GC and I wasn't really excited about going.. so he said "Ok, you stay home and I'll take my other girl I love with me" pfft. So I think they're going to the mall. Fine by me. I should clean, but I'll probably sit on my butt, drink coffee and watch Netflix.

Lillian has her first check-up today and I know she lost weight (weighed her on our baby scale last night). So frustrating because I thought she was found so well nursing. We're meeting with the ENT today to get her frenulum snipped so hopefully that'll help with latching (and my nipples). Just a "boo hoo" mommy moment.
Good luck to those being induced and those in labor today!

Two full days left of work for me! Very excited but also thinking my maternity khaki pants are done after tomorrow. Going to hopefully switch to yoga pants and hope nobody comments. I am barely fitting anymore and dont want to spend money on more clothes!
I had been planning on working up until I had baby girl, but woke up at 3 this morning with teeny tiny contractions and said to hell with work. Looks like I get to stay home and start leave a week away from my EDD, and maybe see if these contractions take on a pattern and/or get stronger. Soooo friggin exciting!
Lurking from June. (I thought I'd pop in on this random thread rather than AW with a new thread.) It just occurred to me that 2015 is right around the corner and all of you Bumpies will be amongst the first to introduce new tiny humans for 2015. Wishing you all the best of health and unicorn pain free births! Xoxo on behalf of June Bumpies!
Omg.... so this time tomorrow I'll be moments away from meeting my babies! This is seriously surreal! 8-> DH was a nesting beast yesterday lol he shampooed carpet, bleached bathrooms, and moved pnp to our room. He even had me go ahead and fil the pnp side pockets with diapers and other baby things :-)
I realized that I don't want want to have this LO before Jan 9th (my EDD is Jan 14th), because although it's irrational and 7 weeks maternity is the same amount of time regardless, it feels so much shorter to come back in February vs. coming back in March. I really want to be out until March.

I haven't really posted lately, not that I posted a lot before so I apologize in advance for the following generalization.
I hope everyone had a great holiday! I hope everyone who has been under the weather is feeling better. I hope everyone is looking forward to or already enjoying maternity leave. Congratulations on all of the recent newborns!
@elleswarth Good luck & fingers crossed for today.
I was dehydrated yesterday at lunch/football & passed out. Total first for me. Half time rolled around & all of a sudden I was having difficulty breathing. Asked SO to walk me to car so I could lay down for a bit, he suggested I just go home. I told him I didn't think I'd make it & next thing I knew I was waking up slumped over on him. Hadn't realized I was so dehydrated.
SO's company holiday party is tonight & I'm not interested in going. At. All.
My daughter hates baths. HATES. Where does she come from? I was a water baby. Both H and I were. My mom says I LOVED getting baths as a newborn/infant and my MIL says the same about my husband. You would think I'm torturing my poor kid when I bathe her. She HATES it. She cries and cries. I've tried more water, less water. I've tried a bit warmer. A bit cooler. I've tried using a baby tub. I've tried using our tub. I even got in with her once to see if holding her helped. She just cries.
I hope that gets better.

We had a family friend pass away this morning. He is the father of one of my best friends and the husband of my mom's best friend. He's been a huge part of my life for the last 20+ years. He made a comment recently that he really missed me and was hoping he would get to see me again before he died. The day I was supposed to go over and visit, he wasn't up for visitors. I never got to go. He also made the comment to his wife about hoping he was around to meet this baby. I never thought it wouldn't happen. Just yesterday, DH and I were talking about bringing the baby by on our way home from the hospital so he wouldn't have to come to us. He has had his ups and downs and it looked like he was doing okay at the moment. They think it was bleeding on the brain caused by the medication. I am heartbroken, but so thankful he was able to spend Christmas with his family.

My friend at work had this issue with her baby when he was first born, so they tried to just make it as fun as possible. They would splash a bit and laugh and made it seem like a fun game. Eventually he realized that they were having fun and he started to love baths. Good luck!

I am so excited that my EDD is just a week away! Hoping to get over this cold fast (at least tylenol is helping with the body aches and sore throat). Going in to work today because I have a new person starting today and my designant is on PTO all week. hoping I won't have to work much this week. Looking forward to my 39 week appointment tomorrow morning.

Doesn't work Do that almost every time. Along with using some squeaky toys to try and help.
I kid you not, my H even tried to play guitar once last week during a bath because she usually LOVES that and gets really quiet... and it did nothing. She cried through it.
Hopefully just a phase and she'll learn to love it. Bath time really shouldn't be this stressful :P

I was hurting a lot last night and I am supposed to go into work today but I am seriously considering staying home. There is nothing to do and my boss is on vacation...
@9513, sorry about the loss of your family friend, and sorry to everyone who is having contractions and other pains.
DS and I both slept until 8:30 (woohoo), and I'm debating between going shopping to return/exchange a few things and trying to cross some other things off the list like baby laundry and packing the hospital bag. Maybe I'll do a little of both.
Morning ladies! Looks like it's going to be an exciting day around here. Good luck to all with inductions and appointments today!
@soon2bejp sorry about your BP. I'm in a similar situation and it has me nervous. I've had several that are over the line and worry at any appointment thy could call it. The MD who did my procedure yesterday for the hemorrhoid checked my BP before she let me know home and it was borderline but she joked "this is why no one wants to touch pregnant women!". Hopefully it will all stay stable for a few more weeks!
@papapalie sorry you're having another attack how many more days until your induction? Good luck to your friend! I'm still a little early but when I called a friend to watch DD yesterday I so had the thought that I wished I was calling because I was in labor and not because of fing hemorrhoid surgery! Hopefully we'll get to meet our little ones soon and these other issues will resolve!
@MusicFanatic my DD went through a phase where she hates baths with a passion and would scream bloody murder. Now she's stay in the bath or shower all day if we'd let her. Hopefully it's just a phase with Zoe too!
G'morning!! Lili let me sleep for 4 whole uninterrupted hours! It feels amazing lol. Sorry to the ladies not feeling so great. Hope things get better. @MusicFanatic DD1 was like that with bathes. She seriously would cry so hard she would go into panic mode. She did get better after a couple of months though, so hopefully that will be the case for you soon.
DH lost his job Friday. They didn't like how much time he had missed with dr appointments and baby being born. And because he was still in the new probation period, they could just let him go. BUT he spent the day yesterday job hunting and has an interview right now!!! Fx for that!
Hope everyone has a great day and I'm super excited for all of these babies coming today! Good luck!
Dr. appointment at lunch today. Work parking lot was empty so that was nice. I think my uterus hates me. I have contractions all the time that don't do much of anything. Wahh..
Good luck to everyone being induced today. Pitocin sucks so hang in there. :-)
Hi! Just spent last week in a baby haze. Today is DH's first day back at work since the baby was born. Kind of sad about it. I realize time is flying by and I'll have to be going back to work and leaving my precious little bundle behind before I know it. So many feels
Also DH's dad bought a ticket to come see us today-Thursday yesterday, without telling/asking us ahead of time. Not cool. I'm feeling super private and protective and don't really want guests. It'll be ok, though. DH has early release NYE and NY off, so I'll only have to host for one day. Still, though. No more surprise visits, please!
I'm playing the big old waiting game right now - I'm 38 weeks 6 days. I feel kind of ok today so I'm at work. This sucks. I want my baby!
In other news, I won my fantasy football league! I'm super proud of myself because I really did most of it on my own - DH only helped a little. Yay for winning!
@rayna912- so sorry to hear your husband lost his job But that's a quick interview, so wooohoo! I wish him lots of luck and hope he gets it.
And I'm glad to hear lots of you had LO's that hated the bath for a bit and learned to love it. I feel so bad when I bathe her, but it's kinda something I have to do.
(Zoe Claire- born at 33.6 weeks- November 19, '14 - 5lbs 15oz)
I'm having a rcs tomorrow and I'm so nervous! I can't wait to meet my LO and am happy I've had time to prepare and know exactly when she's coming but man everytime I think about it I get sick to my stomache. I enjoy seeing all birth announcements and stories of healthy babies and great births. I know I'll be one of them too, my mind just wanders some times. Tomorrow we will be a family of four!! Eeeekkkkkk
@MusicFanatic, my DS didn't like bath time until he was almost 18 months old. He would even scream bloody murder in the pool. The only ways I could get that kid to bathe without having an anxiety attack were to be in the tub with him or use the detachable showerhead to gently spray him down. It's not that he didn't like water. He just didn't like being IN the water. Now, on the other hand, like what some PPs have said, I can't keep that kid out of the pool and he would live in the bath tub for hours on end if I let him.
