Diaper Bag Dilema

2»

Re: Diaper Bag Dilema

  • I promised myself I would splurge on the kate spade diaper bag I've been drooling over for about four years. DH is not going to carry that until hell freezes over. It will be rare that he will need a diaper bag when I'm not around, but he will undoubtedly have his own diaper bag.

Yep, this proves it. You're my favorite person ever and I think we share a brain. I've been drooling over her diaper bags since before I even got pregnant! Just been waiting for the right time (and paycheck) to pull the trigger and finally order one!

  • DH was way more opposed to getting his own diaper bag than to using mine. Or maybe it's just that he was opposed to spending more money, hah. But really, we did not need more than one. And early on, there really was no time that DS was alone with his Dad for longer than 2 hours since baby was nursing.

No dilemma necessary: Get a diaper bag just for him, otherwise it seems like you're shutting him out. Frankly, it's awesome he intends to be so hands-on & involved.

Pick your battles, hon. There are bigger issues.
  • Has anyone seen the Pottery Barn Kids diaper bags in person?  I got the catalog last night and some looked really cute and pretty unisex!

  • I got H a diaper dudes diaper messenger style bag for Xmas and stocked it with camo burp cloths and onsies and just cute little funny stuff for baby. He LOVES it. He wouldn't stop checking out man diaper bags at the stores we went to so I just got one on Amazon for like $36. It wasn't much of an investment and it makes him feel like a special snowflake in the pregnancy, then so be it. He can always use it for a fishing bag or something if he doesn't end up using it.

I wanted my own bag bc I'm a brat like that and I plan to use it like a purse. I don't plan on splurging on an expensive designer bag though. Just not me.

PS - @laurendutch‌ I'm thinking of getting the same skip hop bag! The pin striped one. I love it!

These are super cute but I think I want something nylon as opposed to canvas (easier cleanup for inevitable spills). Leaning towards a Kate Spade diaper bag (if only Longchamp made them - I think the combo of nylon and the lining they use would be perfect!)

    I love it! It's not super girly/flowery!

  • Pffftttt. DH is gonna rock the Vera Bradley Diaper Bag just like I am & he has no problem with it. He did the same thing with a different Vera bag when I had DS.

Oooh, I LOVE Vera Bradley!! I want one SO bad. Did you like yours??

DH bought this diaper bag for me more than a year ago after I saw it at the Kate Spade store, and kept it hidden until this Christmas when he gave it to me.  It's the Daycation Adaira style.  I'm in love with the cocktails, of course, but also that it'll hopefully be easy to clean.  I'm sure some people might side eye me for wanting this one, but #idontgiveacrap

  • I bought a nice looking diaper bag that I kept my purse stuff in rather than vice versa (you will be shocked at how much stuff you need to keep with you...an insert in my regular purse would not have cut it...) and we had a small plain black back back type diaper bag that we got for free that DH used when I wasn't around.

If I went out without baby I just took my purse stuff out of the diaper bag and put it into a regular purse.
  • I just checked with my hubs and he doesn't really care what the diaper bag I get looks like, he'll carry whatever. I figured that was the case. God bless the man for being laid back.
