I slept like crap last night, I could tell I was coming down with something (body aches and all), woke up the first time to pee (out of about 6) and my throat hurt like crazy! Might take some benadryl today to get some rest and clear up some of the mucus. Being sick at 38w6d really really sucks!
I'm probably not getting dressed today. I'm perfectly fine in my sweats that I slept in. 4 Christmas' in 2 days was just too much for the body to recover.
Still cannot believe Beau will be 2 weeks tomorrow. Sadly living in MN with all the influenza and colds going around like crazy he's congested but I'll take that over influenza any day.
Oh and I got some new wine glasses yesterday that I ended up with from the Christmas gift exchange game. I call that a win!
I live in MN, too. I'm terrified of getting the flu right now. My worst nightmare is going into labor while I have the flu. Ahhh!
Puppy woke me up early this morning and is now napping in the sun of the window. Is it bad I'm jealous of the dog right now?? Haha
Add me to the list of people getting a pedicure today. As soon as I put on "real" clothes and find a salon. Also plan on using all my BRU rewards bucks while I'm out.
On a negative note, my mother (who's usually my BFF) is driving me bananas. Every time I call her or text her she asks me if I'm in pain or if I'm having any contractions. I finally just laughed and gave up this morning and was like "yes mom I'm actively going into labor and hiding it from you".
My daughter and I are in the stomach bug club. Both in our rooms nestled up with our puke buckets. Waiting on our pedialite popsicles to freeze. We can barely keep down sips of water, so I'm not ready to make us broth. It's gonna be a long day..
I'm so bored today, I have watched like 30 movies in the past couple weeks and some of them more than once. I have been entertaining DS the whole time too and am sick of it because it's hard to get up and down from the floor and couch a million times per day. But I feel bad because he just wants someone to play with and he doesn't understand why I'm so boring now. I wish DH would stay in for more than 10 minutes and actually play with him because most of the time he lays on the couch and floor and falls asleep which only frustrated DS and myself more!! I feel like when this LO shows up its only going to get worse. At the same time, I hope that with a new baby DH will put in a bit more effort to be around to help or at least take DS with him for a break for me from time to time. Gaaaah ok rant over.
I should really take my Christmas tree down and tidy up my kitchen and laundry room today, but I have to wait for DS to go back to bed first because he would not be helpful in any way.
@CrazyMonkeyBear same thing happened to my aloe plant. I got fed up and threw it out. I'm so mad I couldn't fix the issue because I have lots of plants in my house and aloe is the only one to give me issues.
I have a question about newborn photos. Generally speaking do most photographers want a few pictures with the parents? Do I need to dress up too??? The photographer is doing then for free to beef up her portfolio. I will ask her but I'm just thinking that 4 days after having him I'm not sure that I will want to be taking pictures!
You should be prepared to be in some if them. I wouldn't stress out about getting super dresses up but look decent. Years from now you'll want pics of you and the baby, don't pass up the opportunity just cause you are not wanting to get dressed
We took down all of our Christmas decorations. The tree is still standing but I shall fell it shortly.
We have 26 days until LO arrives, 17 days until my mom gets here. DH leaves town next week for a week or two, so we're going ahead and reorganizing rooms and setting up baby gear, and packing baby girls diaper bag. I'm ridiculously excited.

When you break it down to days like that it seems like it's so close, but somehow it doesn't feel that close, for me anyway.
I invited 6 of ds classmates over for a playdate today. Only 1 came. That kind of sucks. I thought it would be great for me to actually meet some of his school friends and their parents but I guess Christmas schedules must have gotten in the way. Oh well, I guess I should be happy one showed up, he would have been really sad if nobody came.
Today is my official due date, and I'm still pregnant. Everything is annoying to me, and I'm so sick of people asking about when she'll arrive. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be pregnant forever.....
Thank you everyone for helping me out. I am going to trust you all and let them do family shots if she offers. Now I must find an outfit to wear and one for DH. My DH is going to hate it but he will just have to suck it up. I'm assuming black will be the best for pictures and will probably help me look the best? @4littlebears is that right? Or do you have any suggestions for what looks the best?
You could do some black, but I wouldn't go all black necessarily. Add some neutral or a little color. You can message me some pics if you want and I'll give you my best input. Pinterest is your friend. A good piece of clothing with a good cut to it is better than just a concealing color IMO.
Woke up with a cold. Ughhhhhh! @babystandish any tips to get rid of this quick? I'm off for dim sum and errands with H before the Lions game. Must pick up some peg safe lozenges.
@aremac, I'm so jealous of dim sum! I haven't found a good place in ATL.

Gahhh I am so sorry, that is the worse feeling!! I hope she gets her act together soon!!
@Maebb It was really good, but at 35+ weeks pregnant the 30min standing wait for a table wasn't so fun.
@babystandish, I'm retreating to the couch with a pot of tea for the rest of the day - I took a long walk to get everything moving - hopefully rest & exercise will make quicker work of it.
@CrazyMonkeyBear - I feel your pain. I have a decent stockpile right now, but with the number of cups I usually drink per day, especially in the winter, I know it's not nearly enough tea to get me through the season.
Ian came home on Christmas and we've been at the dr every day for appointments/weight checks. Finally today he gained an oz!
Hope everyone who is feeling under the weather is better soon!!
@mmooki Congrats on gaining an ounce! Lillian came home on Christmas too but the doctor is waiting to see us until tomorrow. I'm anxious about her weight gain. I also think she has jaundice which may be due to her bring tongue-tied. She has to have her frenulum snipped this week.
Oh the little stresses of having a newborn!

My SIL left an open bottle of champagne (without even a cork in it) in the secret downstairs fridge at my ILs, and they don't drink, so I guess I need to drink some, right?
Sorry to everyone who is having crappy sleep or not feeling well:(
I had a pretty gnarly contraction at church today. It lasted longer than the ones I have been experiencing but I was able to breathe through it quietly.
I made DH get his flu shot on Friday and the poor guy was knocked on his butt all day yesterday. He had a bad reaction to the shot with body aches and a slight temperature. Fortunately, he's feeling better today. Now he's trying to get a digital antenna for our TV to work and he's not having much success. We are trying to cut out our cable and go to Amazon Prime or Netflix.
@papapalie I was hesitant to give up cable because of The Walking Dead and SF Giants baseball. I will be buying TWD episodes on Vudu the day after it airs and possibly subscribing to MLB.com. It's cheaper than paying for a cable package.
DH and I are maybe narrowing in on a name...Eli, Gavin, or Everett.
My MIL said Everett sounds like a "sissy" name. This is the same MIL who wanted me to change the pink sheets on my niece's bed before DS took a nap on it because that might make him catch the geigh or something. I told DH maybe we should just name the new baby "I love having sex with men" - I think she'd really like that one.
I've been contracting off and on all day. Hopefully it's nothing. I haven't even been active today, just relaxing. Plus I've been drinking allot of water, so I'm sure it's not caused by dehydration. Just makes me wonder if I'm in early stages of labor.
@saiven, that's just odd. She should know better. Maybe she's jealous because she's had all overdue babies? I'm just reaching here, but I wouldn't say something like that to my sister (who has yet to have a baby or get pregnant, fxed it's soon though!)
I am watching the Seahawks game in my bedroom....my neighbors may think that my water just broke or something, I screamed so loud at this interception and touchdown.

Seriously though, @LaBellaVida, I hope you feel better soon. I hate those on/off crampy days. If it's time, it's time and you'll know! Most of our babies are of good GA's to be healthy. (I can say that cause I'm at the back of the pack )

We're hollering over here too.
I'll be rooting for Seattle in the playoffs. My poor Niners. I think all the stupid drama had a really bad affect on the team. Hopefully, there won't be any drama next season.
I think this cold might be the flu, I'm now aching and nauseous despite being on anti-nausea meds for the last eight months.... Blahhhhhh, I hope all us sick ladies have fast recoveries. H keeps telling me it's a good thing since I'm passing antibodies to the fetus. He's cute when he's trying to cheer me up.

Yeah, I'll know when it's time. ... I'm sure it's nothing, but I did have a thought of "I wonder if it's almost time. " It feels very similar to my last labor. I'm in the back of the pack too, due Jan 26. I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow, so even if he were to be born now, I think he'll be OK.

Depends. Is your nose scrunching to the left or right? That makes all the difference.
I would do it but I haz the sick.
@saiven?
