This year was such a huge adjustment with having a baby and starting my business, that I let go of taking care of myself. I really want to be a good example for LO of healthy living. LO is flourishing, my business has taken off. Now it's time to discover some balance. I'm actually starting tomorrow. MH and I are going to start planning meals, and cooking for the week on Sundays. We are also going to tag team in the morning going to the gym. We also want to be the best example we can be for a healthy relationship. So we are going to couples counseling. We are doing ok, but we feel it would be good to take a look at our relationship and find ways to get better. I feel like so much of this year was about just about getting by. I'm excited to get back to feeling like I can keep my head above water. I don't know if that's possible. But I'm gonna try.
Last year my new year's resolution was to have a baby.
I crack myself up.
At least you followed through.
Pretty sure it's the ONLY time I've ever followed through on a resolution.
I'm curious how you plan on sparkling more than you already do. Glitter baths? Sequined pajamas? Please elaborate.
Glitter baths are actually a thing, theres a company called Lush and you can put these amazing smelling bath bombs and stuff and take a shiny glittery baths!

Well. You learn something more every day. I'll be stopping at lush.
Also, @Codypup? I now own a sparkle sweatsuit. And I just ordered sequin print undies. And I have some glitter body spray.

I refuse to believe that you own a sparkle sweatsuit until I see photo evidence.
I've made resolutions in the past to lose weight, and I start off well and end up back to my old ways. I'm setting a very specific goal for myself to lose an average of 5 pounds/month next year, which seems doable. Some months might be better, some might be worse, but if I can average 5/month, I'll be doing alright!
Our joint resolution is to simplify our lives. Set our bills to autopay so no one is worrying about whether a bill got paid or not. Clear out all of the clutter and unnecessary junk out of our house. Say "no" sometimes and give ourselves days with no plans to just be at home together.
@shellbell3845 Yes, I only want serious resolutions. Get off my thread.
Sorry Miss D!!!!!
I get scared to make serious resolutions because I'm always mad at myself when I don't follow through. I make resolutions that are either easily attainable (aka get photos printed for my photo album) or no biggie if I don't follow through (aka wear my hair down more often.)
This year I'd like to work on making some friends here in Nashville. Like...real friends. I'm going to have to reach out and take chances and that's scary. I miss having IRL girlfriends nearby.
Join weight watchers and get healthy. Not only for me and my kids but my brother got engaged today!! I'll be in the wedding and don't want to look gross! I've been dealing with a lot of health issues lately and it has put everything into perspective
....sigh....mine SHOULD be go to Starbucks less. ;;)
We got an espresso maker for home, and I actually use it. It's faster than sitting in drive thru, and I can have more than one. AND my house comes with Baileys
....sigh....mine SHOULD be go to Starbucks less. ;;)
Why??????
I downloaded the Starbucks app....I work towards getting free drinks like I am training for the Olympics. I get soooo excited when I get a free drink....then today I was told I can actually use my free "drink" to buy a $6.00 sandwich!!!
I just bought the T25 workout pack....apparently I should be able to work out at home with no equipment in 25 mins, 5 days a week, drop 20-30lb in a month and get rid of my hideous c-section shelf - I'll post before and after pics IF I succeed in hitting the minimum weight loss and at least losing an inch of shelf space
Mine is simple but very hard for me. I want to slow down and enjoy the day to day with my kids and DH. Life is not predictable and I tend to get caught up stressing over details (cleaning, planning, organizing etc) while my family waits. We are going to have 3 kids in this house. It's never going to be as tidy as I would like. So I guess my goal is to have a messier house and more fun with my kids while I can. I got a little Cats in the Cradle going on.
DS loves going to Starbucks, too! He only ever gets milk from there, but I think it sounds so funny to hear him talking about wanting to stop at Starbucks while we're out, haha!
Lots of great goals already. My goal is to do yoga more and to make time to see my girlfriends. I haven't hung out with friends (sans kids or DH) in longer than I can remember.
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!
I've been thinking a lot about this, and I think that I'm going to do my best to have a tidier home. This will accomplish a lot really, in making it easier to play with R and not have to worry he'll get into things, not stressing when we're having guests, BF won't be so annoyed, I'll spend less time looking for crap and/or doing "big" cleans. All sorts of things.
So to that end I think it's important to:
1. Clear out extra clutter
2. Buy less new crap (bonus of also saving more money)
@missdemeanor I've been reading this book - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. It's sort of out there in a zen way, but it's been pretty interesting.
