Who here is good with electronics?

I have a summer infant 'slim and secure' video monitor. We just bought a second camera on eBay to watch a second room ( the model is discontinued so the company is not much help). I got the second camera linked successfully. Then there is a scan feature which is supposed to go to each active camera for 8 seconds. Problem is it also scans cameras 3 and 4. There are no other cameras so it's just 16 seconds of dead air. Any ideas how to fix this? Un-sync the cameras and start over?

I don't own this product but from the manual it seems it's supposed to scan only active cameras. I would un-sync everything, remove and replace batteries and start over.
