Help- Want to buy some Alvas

For those who use Alva Baby diapers, is it worth it to buy them with inserts? I have heard a lot of people use prefolds, FSTs, or hemp/bamboo inserts instead of the microfiber inserts they come with. I saw that you can buy them without inserts on their site for cheaper.

Also, what do you stuff your Alva Baby diapers with?

Do you need girly ones? I have some I want to destash. I use micro fiber bc I'm cheap but I also use prefolds in them sometimes.

I would advise against alvas microfiber. I think the 4 layer bamboo are nice, although I usually use two to stuff now that she's bigger. I also stuff with prefolds or occasionally a couple flats. I will say the microfiber work ok when doubled, but I have 4 and all four are different sizes though they claim to be the same. My bamboo are all the same size and have held up beautifully.

I have Alvas that came with 2 MF inserts and I always use both. I also have ones that came with charcoal bamboo inserts (which have MF in the middle). I've been pretty happy with both so far, though the single charcoal bamboo insert can leak during a nap, so I usually use doubled MF for heavy wetting times. Their website is pretty terrible, but it's worth dealing with for the amount you can save, in my experience.

I need to close that window and walk away. 2015 needs to be about saving money. Thanks though, it's nice to have an option that actually sorts diapers into logical categories (as opposed to Alva's website).

Awesome, thanks! I swore I wouldn't be one of those moms who get obsessed with girly stuff, but I have to admit there have been several purchases over the past week involving the colors pink and purple. Still doing all major stuff GN though, just in case we have a boy at some point!

There is nothing wrong with wanting all the girly prints! If you have a boy later just destash your girl stuff and get boy diapers! I have a few diapers that I'm sure people think are "girly" but when H gets big enough for OS he'll be rocking some of his sister's diapers. lol. Here are the pics...The top two are alva and the bottom two are Kawaii. I want to get $4 each for the alva and $6 each for the Kawaii. I also have two girly RaR that I am wanting to sell. They are $17 each. Let me know if you want pics of those.

@candlequeen‌ if they are still available (and if you're willing to sell to someone who doesn't post too often) I'm interested in the 2 stargazerlily didn't pick - I've been wanting to try kawaii and Alva but keep being lazy. And those prints are cute! Postage (in US)?

I PM'd you back! On mobile I just click on any random person's name and select PM then it'll have an inbox link at the top and you click on that. Probably an easier way but that's how I do it. Or if you have the mobile app and you are on the home page of the forums, you scroll to the bottom and there's a link for your inbox.
