**** Update ****
Sorry - I didn't realize a Bed Rest Check-in was stared yesterday.  (I neglected my search due diligence ;) ).

So... I'm just gonna re-direct entries from this thread, to yesterday's thread, which you can find here:

**********************

While I was whining about being on bed rest last week, it was suggested that we start an April 2015 weekly bed rest check-in.  So, here it is - the very first check-in for the ladies of forced leisure.

Give us an update.  What are you doing time for?  Any recent appointments/changes/updates on you or your LOs?  Any good tactics to share for dealing with the bed rest blues?

QOTW: Is there anything that you're missing out on this holiday season that has you a little bummed (or maybe a little relieved)?

Re: Eep! Nevermind.

  • Here's my story:
At 20w1d, I woke up to find that I was leaking amniotic fluid.  I'm carrying twins, and it was determined that there was a membrane rupture (PPROM) in the sac of one of my babies.  I'm currently on a modified sort of bed rest at home (I can take showers, do some limited walking, work at home on my laptop, etc).  I'm at 22w today, and when I hit 23w1d, I will check into a hospital with a level 4 NICU for monitoring, steroids to develop baby lungs, and a good fighting chance at delivering 2 viable babies.

Updates:  I've had one MFM appointment and one OB appointment since the initial leak, and heard strong heart beats on both babies, and confirmed that there is still some fluid remaining in both sacs.  Both really positive signs.

QOTW:  This is the first year that I can remember that I have not baked Christmas cookies.  I used to bake with my older brothers and sister when I was a kid, and I haven't missed a year yet.. until this year.
Since we moved into our house 6 years ago, we've been hosting my family for Christmas dinner. As of last week, dinner has been moved to my mom's house, which is just a giant relief.  I don't even mind missing dinner.  I'm looking forward to sitting on the couch and watching movies this Christmas.

  • I would like to join! I've been lurking for a long time and I just haven't been able to find anything to participate in on a regular basis.

Update: I'm in for placenta pervia, though not complete and I might be free of it next week. As of right now I'm using the time to catch up on my reading and gaming, especially since DH is out of town most of the time. Appointments that have been/are recent; glucose test yesterday, and checking on the placenta next Tuesday.

QOTW: No there is nothing I'm missing out on because of bed rest, thank goodness. My family managed to break up the holidays enough that we aren't rushing to be anywhere.
  • @mollymsalyers - You're welcome to participate in the check-in for as long as short as you'd like.  FX that your placenta moves to a better location either way.
