My 4 week old LO seems to be perfectly content going right back to sleep after his daytime feedings. (He eats about 2.5 oz every 3-4 hours and it takes about 15 minutes to eat and then we keep him upright for 20 minutes).
Should I let him do this or should I encourage him to stay awake? I have read different things about how long they should stay awake between feeds and I am thoroughly confused!!
Re: Keep Awake After Eating
You can also try to naturally keep him awake by turning the lights up, playing music, etc... That might interest him enough to stay awake a little longer.

I know a lot of people go by the whole "eat, play, sleep" thing, but eating can make babies fall asleep and I wouldn't be one to wake a sleeping baby. If LO falls asleep while eating I let him be. Sometimes we play, eat, sleep. I don't think it matters what order it happens!
