Update: sick DD

Yay!!! Negative for flu!! This time it really was her two year molar coming in on the left upper side. Her strep is really improved. Her ears looked good.

Whew. Thank goodness.

Bad news is that my step mom and step sister are both sick. We are supposed to do christmas at their house tomorrow. I'm on the fence. We just got healthy. ;(

How sick are they? I wouldn't do it unless you can sit very far away from them and wash your hands very frequently (or ideally, wear a face mask, although I realize this would look ridiculous)... Any other year would be fine, but the year you're pregnant it's quite risky to expose yourself to the flu.

I just texted my step mom. We are ONLY going if everyone if fever free and not throwing up. I will not expose myself or our kids to fevers and puking. There's usually about 30 people and I could easily stay away from them. But it's the airborne crap I worry about.

I was going to bring my diffuser and diffuse some theives in each area of their house but my essential oil guide says no theives if pregnant which includes inhaling it. Soooo there goes that idea!

Such a bummer too because she's an awesome cook. The spread at their house is awesome. Makes me wanna send my hubby to make plates and bring them home. Lol

Nope. Christmas Eve is a no go. My step mom is puking. Her daughter is still in bed puking. No. Thank. You.

If I were her, I would postpone! She could do New Year's Even instead, or January 6th, orthodox Christmas Eve. Hope they all feel better soon and that you stay germ-free.

@BeckyP005 Small world! In fact, one set of my grandparents escaped the Nazis by fleeing from Sarajevo to Belgrade in 1940. Both my parents were born in Belgrade, although we have ancestors all over the place. My theory is that we're all mutts in the Balkans anyway - too many invading armies over the past 1000 years to conclude anything else. One upside: robust gene pool!

They had two people show for Christmas Eve. My step mom is spent but fever free and not vomiting anymore. My step sister is fever free but was still throwing up as of today. Yikes!!

We are hoping to do dinner with them on Sunday. Should be good by then.

I felt bad for my kids. ;(. They were so sad not to go. My son is 6 and he was crying when we got to my husbands parents. He kept saying but mommy they aren't as fun and they don't give fun presents and I wanna play. Lol. My step mom is like a fairytale. She just does such cool things for the kids. My dad is currently working on a dress up station for my 2 yr old daughter. Building it. Painting it. It's SO cute. My husbands parents just aren't like that. They love our kids but they're just not that fun. Lol.

We are all still healthy thank goodness!

Good to know everyone is on the mend. Perhaps your kids could do something extra-nice to recognize the super-fun grandma and grandpa. They both sound great! I can only hope to be as much fun for grandkids one day.
