Went to the MFM today at 33 weeks and I am carrying over 9 pounds of baby! Baby A is 4.8 and Baby B 5.2. The MFM is having me come in one more time if I make it that far she said at 36 weeks. I feel so unprepared and am beginning to panic a little. I was thinking I still have a solid month, but maybe not. How much bigger do you think the babies ale ill get if I make it that far? The Tech said they are both still head down and low. I am tall about 5"8 and slender pre pregnancy. Babies don't have a ton of room left!

I made it to 37 weeks to the day before I was induced. I'm 5'8" with an athletic build, 135lbs pre babies. I was induced because my daughter was IUGR though, she was only 4lbs 10oz and my son was 7lbs 2oz. Are they wanting you to deliver because of their possible size? Even making it to 37 weeks, my babies still had NICU time because their systems were immature. If she didn't have the knot in her cord a week could've made all the difference.
I had a RCS at 38+1, because of GD. it was pretty controlled, the doc said I could've went longer. Uh no thanks lol. Baby boy weighed 5 15 and baby girl weighed 6 2. I am 5 8 with a long torso (and some extra weight). No NICU time and no issues with sugar. They both came home with me. At 3 weeks they are both over 7lbs.
TTC for 1.5 years with a crappy RE. 12 cycles with clomid (11 too many)
The MFM said they can stay since they are doing good and growing. I guess she was saying that, because a lot of multiple pregnancies deliver early. She seemed really happy with how they are doing though.

Pre-birth measurements can be off by a good pound either direction. I made it to 37w2d with pre-eclampsia and GD. It really isn't something anyone can predict for you, and it has WAY more to do with complications than it does to do with baby size.
My boys were each "measured" at about six and a half pounds in the last week before I delivered, and they came out at 5lbs 15oz and 5lbs 8oz. I am just over 5'3".
*Spontaneous* OHSS diagnosed 08.06.2012 Right ovary removed 09.04.2012 via vertical laparotomy Essure implant placed on remaining tube 06.13.2013; successful followup scan 09.30.2013
I was scheduled to have a C-section at 37 weeks when i went into labor on my own at 36 weeks exactly. Neither boy required any time in the NICU and went home from the hospital with me.
I delivered my twins just 10 hours shy of 37 weeks with no NICU time. We went home a few days later. They were both 6.5 pounds. My MFM considered 36 weeks the safe zone and I was very relieved and grateful to make it that far. Consider yourself lucky - your babies are likely nice and big and healthy! (But I know it's so hard toward the end - hang in there!)

My girls were delivered via c/s at 38 wks 3 days. They were 5-11 and 6-4 so 12lbs of baby. You'd be amazed at how they squeeze in there. My girls had no intention of coming out as they tried to induce me for 42 hrs and I never dilated more than a fingertip. I'm 5'6".
another IF friend of mine just had 14 lbs of twins. Also growth u/s are notoriously bad with twins at this stage bc they overlap. Mine were estimated at 6lbs each at 35 weeks but in reality they were born 18 days later and were 12 lbs so the growth u/s overestimated them by a lot.

I had my di/di girls via scheduled (elective) C-section (eviction) at 37w1d. My practice liked to deliver twins between 37 and 38 weeks, and that was when the doctor picked. My girls were measuring about 5 and a half lbs two days before, and they were 5lbs7oz and 5lbs8oz, 18.5 and 19 inches. I had started dropping weight at the end because I was too uncomfortable to eat much, so I was not measuring that big, but I felt 100% full to capacity of limbs!
I am currently 38 weeks. My doctors will let them stay in as long as both they and I remain healthy. I'm trying to get okay with the idea of carrying twins to 40 weeks. I really don't know how I'll manage.
I am 5'8'' and 133 lbs pre-pregnancy (gained 36 lbs so far).
Reading these stories is encouraging! I'm glad you asked @cls78. My OB has given me a goal of 37 weeks, but I've been having severe cramping on one side and he's talked of delivering sooner.
I can't wait to see the estimated weights of our babies on Monday. I'm looking more forward to that than I am to Christmas!! I haven't seen their shining faces for almost four weeks and I miss them!

My little guys were 7lbs each and I went to 38 weeks. I actually walked into the hospital and demanded they take them out because I could not physically do it anymore. I'm a tiny person so the fact that I went as far as I did shocked everyone.
I ended up getting a rash called pup (I think that is what it is called), and the itching was the most painful thing I have ever gone through. I think my stomach just got to the point where it could not physically stretch anymore.
I had a c-section, it would have been nice to have them naturally but I was just at a point where I was DONE lol!
I was induced at 39w5d. Babies were born at 6lb13oz and 5lb13oz, no NICU time. I'm 5'5'' and was 125 lbs pre-pregnancy. It's amazing what our bodies can accommodate!

Hang in there OP & take it one day at a time! No matter how far you make I don't think you're ever fully prepared.

My hospital's policy was nothing scheduled before 38 weeks, so my MFM's goal was for me to make it until then. I ended up w/ a C-Section a week earlier due to a bad NST.
Hang in there, @cls78! The last couple of weeks are rough, but you're almost there! I remember feeling like I was carrying around a sack of bricks. Like PP, baby B was transverse up in my ribs, and baby A was right on my bladder. Not fun!
For me, it was instant relief as soon as they took the babies out. Then I was so preoccupied, that all of the discomfort was (and still is) kind of like a distant memory. GL!
Wow I really didn't realize that there were this many ladies that made it so far into their pregnancies.
I however did not. I only made it to 32 wks. I was in the hospital at 31w2d because baby As water was leaking. I wasn't that uncomfortable at that point.
I'm 5'10" with a long torso, I gained 25 lbs. I'm young, athletic, and have a previous pg under my belt but sometimes the unexpected happens. I wish I could've held them in longer but baby As feet were in the birth canal so I had a c section immediately after that was discovered.

I made it to my scheduled CS at 38w1d with pre-existing T2 diabetes and hypertension. I worked at a desk job until 3 days before delivery. I had no contractions or cervical changes, so the babies were perfectly comfortable inside. No NICU or nursery time, they put them on my chest and wheeled us all on a gurney out of the OR to the recovery room. We all roomed-in together until we were discharged 3 days later. Babies were 5lbs13oz and 6lbs11oz. I'm 5'1", so I could barely breathe. The babies were born in early September, so 3rd trimester made for a brutal summer here in humid New Orleans, but thank the Lord, we all made it.
My 34 week OB appt was this past Tue and I feel like I have more of a plan in place, but of course things can still change. Since babies are both head down and unlikely to flip since lack of room looks like a vaginal delivery. The latest would be at 38 weeks (Jan 26). He would like me to go into labor on my own vs being induced. He says it is a easier labor and babies are usually better off as well. He thinks minimum would be in about 2 1/2 weeks from what he has seen in other twin deliveries he has done. I haven't had any contractions or signs of early labor and OB is saying I am having a nice text book pregnancy. I feel very lucky that I have had no complications and only minor discomfort so far.

I haven't been around in forever, but thought I'd reply. I made it to 37w1d and that was the day I was induced (had emergency C/S though). I had false labour the week prior though. I'm 5'5" and was 215 pre-pregnancy though, and Baby A was 6 lbs 8 oz and Baby B was 5 lbs 11 oz. I had a relatively easy pregnancy, too, besides GD and being unable to do anything! Good luck! You've made it so far!
I am 5'10" and made it to 33w6d. The girls were 4.14 and 4.10. The only reason they took them that early is I was having issues with my BP and there was protein in my urine. I also had GD.
Fingers crossed for you!

Good luck with this. At 35w, both of mine were head-down so I thought I was good to go for vag delivery. By the 37w appointment, Baby B had flipped back to breech, so we were back to CS. I ended up having a scheduled CS at 38w1d with no signs of impending labor, and they had to pull Baby B out from under my ribs. It's amazing how much our bodies can stretch, because those rascals will make room to move, even in the last weeks.
