Ugh why o why is everyone sick!!

Boo. Last Monday night my 2 yr old DD had a 101 fever. I was totally convinced it was her two yr molars because both moly kids fever when they teeth and she was chewing her hands etc. Tuesday daycare called at 4:30. Fever 100.6. Picked her up. Seemed ok. Bath time I noticed a rash on her torso. Watched her. Because it was 7:30pm. Rash and fever both present Wednesday morning. Took her to the dr. Scarlet fever!!!

So she's been on amoxicillin for 6 days now. Today is day 6. Last night freakin 102.6 fever. Called the after hours nurse. They said watch her. Motrin every 6 hrs. Make sure she's drinking. Peeing. Etc.

This morning about 7:30am. No fever. She's playing. Eating. Drinking. Singing. Seems fine.

Fever back to 101. Drs appt at 4:15. I have an OB appt at 2:45 so my mom is taking her.

Seriously!!! My son seems fine. She literally has no other symptoms. No flu or cold symptoms at all. Slight sneezing. That's it!!

Frustrated.

One of my girls had that. It is rough. But Tis the season for sicknesses. We are all congested and nasally. Some have had the cough at our house.
Most of my husband's managers have had the flu this week and been out. I don't think they got the shot though. So praying we don't get it bc we did all get the shot.

Everyone at hubby's work seems sick. He got 24 hr bug. So far (crossing fingers) my son and I don't have it. I'm hoping to be induced soon and don't want my son sick and can't meet baby in hospital.

The pedi said scarlet fever is just bad strep with a rash. I just don't get why she's still having fevers! We are at the drs now. Still waiting for him to come in.

Hope your DD is feeling better soon! Poor little gal. There is terrible flu and things going around this year. Hope things don't get much, much worse after families get together for the Holidays. We've had our flu shots, but this year it doesn't seeming to be helping much.

I know how you feel!  I went back to work on Friday after a vacation and the holiday, and learned that like half the people there either had been sick with a cold or the flu(!).  I started slowly stepping away from them.  Especially now, I really think ppl need to stay home if they're sick!

Unfortunately, this is probably just the beginning.

I could not agree more!!! My organization penalizes staff if they call in. So you call in sick for you or your child.. Attendance point. To me, that makes it worse because no one wants to get in trouble. So they come to work and spread germs! They're also pumping their kids with Tylenol and sending them to school so they don't miss work.. Again spreading germs! I hate it! I had a meeting before the holiday and three people were there with flu! Two pregnant women, myself included, present at the meeting. Four people with little kids at home. All I could think was well YOU people who are here sick can take my attendance point when I go home and bring your cooties to my family!!!

We came down with the crud over the holiday too. Now I have a gross cold going and ds has a sinus infection and pink eye. I hope he keeps the pink eye to himself. It's all I can do to drag myself out of bed and now I have to sanitize everything!
