Shortcuts

What shortcuts are you taking this holiday season or this pregnancy in general? This year all my Christmas cookies have been made from premade cookie dough. I have absolutely no desire/energy to cook dinner let alone bake cookies from scratch. I don't even like the premade cookies but it's getting the job done this year. Curious to see what you ladies are taking shortcuts on? I apologize if this is a duplicate post (I didn't see anything when I looked).

Re: Shortcuts

  • I did absolutely no Christmas shopping this year, one we are having twins which is extremely stressful. And two we are saving to move soon and trying to get out of as much debt as possible before the babies arrive. We did give all the nieces and nephews "certificates" good for dinner and movies at aunt and uncles or cream night and games or a swim day at aunt and uncles :) so I guess that's my Short cut avoiding the crowds out there this holiday season. I don't need to take my raging. Hormones out on other people :) lol And very tempted to use paper plates for Christmas Eve dinner and not use the China to avoid more dishes lol.

  • I'm not sending Christmas cards this year..I haven't even taken the kid's pictures in front of the tree yet.  I also didn't hang the Christmas card holder that I have and am just piling up the cards this year.

  • No Christmas card. Limited decorations inside and out. No handcrafted gifts from my 3 1/2 for family. My house looks like a bomb went off and I'm "ok" with it.

There's more, but can't think. Basically I really did a minimal Christmas this year.

  • I win. No presents. No tree. No decorations. Christmas is non-existent this year. In my defense, I moved last week and it's taking all I have just to unpack.

  • @DaBearsFansWife‌ , you make me feel better about my lack of Christmas! We did do a tree, but only because I threw on some pink and blue ornaments for our announcement. We're staying home for the first time ever, and did nothing festive.

Although I did buy "walking gingerdead" cookies to make with DH...I guess we'll call that Christmas. They are from a box, so totally cheating!
  • I thought we weren't going to have a tree...then came home from work the other day to find husband set it up

We are going low key, not really doing a lot of gifts for each other. Just a few small things.

I didn't send out cards, but I never do
  • No tree this year for us either, just a little ceramic one on the kitchen table. Also, we always put lights up but we've had nasty weather the past week so never got to it. Oops?
