@AnnieRoo13 that poor family. This wasn't the way they imagined baby's first Christmas at all. Thank goodness he'll be okay.
That's what I was thinking! And they have a two year old, so she'll suffer too. Not a very nice way to spend Christmas at all. But luckily he'll be okay.
Okay someone recommend a wine or something for me to drink. I never drink, I just hate the taste. However I'm so close to having a nervous breakdown, so this momma is learning how to enjoy alcohol. Which sounds terrible.

I like how everyone actually recommended alcohol instead of asking about the nervous breakdown. It made me LOL since we all clearly understand.
@IndianaMommy08 I'm so glad you're getting help, and I agree with minibean that you're now on the road to recovery.
@AnnieRoo13 that's a terrible way to spend baby's first Christmas. Lots of T&Ps to them.
I had my 6 week PP appointment today and got my Paraguard. Inserted while nursing. That's definitely a first for me! It sure kept him quiet (and me distracted)!

So I created a Facebook again since my dad was hounding me for pictures of Talon and can't figure out Instagram to save his life. I think I remember reading there's a Facebook group for n14? How do I join this?

My baby is a nut job today! She's hungry but won't eat. Just wailing and wailing and occasionally gnawing on whatever comes near her mouth... except boob or bottle... or paci, of course. Hates those most of all! What's with the nipple strike??? She's only halfway content when on her tummy propped on the boppy or up on my shoulder (nothing new), but I can't get my boob to her way over there no matter how big they are. She'll shimmy toward food, then scream as soon as I offer it. I suspect tummy trouble but not even baby yoga solicited a toot... ugh. Maybe reflux? She has gagged and spit up a few times. I was going to attempt some last minute shopping today. Fuck that! Not when she screams bloody murder for an hour, passes out for 15 minutes, and repeats... currently closing out the fifth hour. At what point do I worry? Is it 8 hours awake without eating?
ETA T&P's @AnnieRoo13 (and of course hugs all around).
@NunyaBennis my LO has reflux. FWIW doc said babies with reflux either want to eat constantly or not at all in an attempt to treat the pain they feel. It's worth a call to the doc to see. If LO is going without food for longer than 5 hours and screaming I would be leaning towards tummy problems. If your LO does have it, it's a easy fix. May be worth looking into sooner than later. I hope she starts feeling better!
ETA just reread your post...wanted to add that my LO would stay awake for up to 10 hours at a time before he was treated...sounds a lot like the catnap situation you have going on. It's miserable for everyone!
We actually asked the dr Fri but decided to wait on meds for a while longer... may need to rethink that if we have many more days like this! She eventually had some good poops and calmed down enough to eat. And eat and eat and eat. Thanks
I am on the bump on a PC for the first time since having Gio. Nice to see siggies! I updated mine too! All this talk of drinking, i made myself a pepsi with Wild Turkey American Honey in it....mmmmm.....been a LONG time!!!!
I am baking cookies, baby FINALLY fell asleep after his 4 hour feeding/burping/peeing/playing/crying session. DH is on night shift, and I have a drink!! aaaaahhhh!!!!
Another thing that helps us with his evening temper tantrum is bath time! FYI for anyone struggling with the supposed witching hour. He loves the bath, and after a bath and a bottle, he normally goes to sleep pretty easily for us. (usually)

@targetpopcornmomma - I'd be cautious about drinking red wine if you're prone to migraines. Red wine, certain cheeses and even chocolate can contribute to migraine headaches. I second the recommendation for Cupcake wines - I love their sauv blanc!
Quick aw: my sister turns 19 today and some of her best guy friends from school are here! I have met them twice and I love them so much. They are such great guys! Anyways, I run to the store real quick and leave Beckham with my sisters and their friends. While I'm out, I get this precious picture. I love how loved my sweet boy is!
@lizgrace03 Trying your sleeping tips tonight Both babies are bathed, swaddled, and in their P&P. Sound machine is cranked, and I'm sitting right next to them w/ my glass of wine. About 15 mins in... so far no meltdowns from either party. Even my colicky girl seems content w/ me just being next to her. Fingers crossed!
DD felt warm so we took her temperature using both thermometers we have. Our thermometers showed her temp being in the low 99s several times. So we took her to the ER and thankfully we didn't have to wait to get seen. They did her vitals normal body temp along with everything else. Such a huge relief and now we will be buying new thermometer and spending more to insure it's a reliable one and not a cheapie that came in the first aid kit.
@gldnbearz Have you ever tried pumping in the car? I pump in the car a lot while H is driving if we need to be somewhere and I need to pump. Such a time saver!
@jlk6 - the restaurant was a 15 minute drive away, so in this case, not enough time to pump. I've been using a hospital grade pump that is not portable. Haven't yet set up the Medela PISA, although I might bring it to the family Christmas gathering.
Good advice on pumping in the car. I will have to figure out the logistics of doing that.
