Amazon Prime saves the day!!

I rarely order anything time-sensitive from Zulily but they had some deals in November with guaranteed Christmas delivery so I ordered a few presents for DD.

As of last week they were still in transit from the vendor to zulily so I called them and they said I would get the items and that they would pay to overnight ship them if needed, in order to get them here on time.

Today I get an email saying "sorry your items are delayed and will not arrive in time for Christmas". So I went to Amazon immediately and ordered all three of them and they will be here Monday. And each one was only a dollar more than the zulily price.

Bonus - zulily is giving me a $10 credit on my account!

Love Amazon! Ordered 3 last minute gifts from them on Friday and will now have perfect additions to my packages before Christmas. I have heard so many things about zulillly that I can't imagine switching from Amazon. Glad your packages are almost there!

I'm in the process of contacting Zulily about orders I placed in the first week in December.  I might have to order from Amazon...

@Twirpie- I ordered these items on Nov 19th so even by zulily's standards that should have been plenty of time.

I ordered DD a backpack from zuiliy on oct 26th it came yesterday I was livid. It's not worth it I don't think.

I bought all my Christmas presents from amazon. Whoever didn't get a gift off amazon got an amazon gift card-free overnight shipping and decorative tin cardholder or lovely greeting card included.

Of course I lie a little bit, I got a few things from walgreens. I'm totally dialing this Christmas shopping in this year.

I always know when I order from zulily that their shipping is a gamble. I never buy things that I need urgently from there. I took a chance and got the baby some leather momo shoes from there on dec 4, with "guaranteed Christmas delivery." They're on their way, so we'll see if they make it!

A lot of times their prices aren't even very good when you include shipping. I just got burned on some magazines I ordered from there and then the next day found a coupon code I could've gotten them for half as much.

@Rrrrrachel - I have noticed that too.  A couple of times I have checked and there really is not much of a discount, if any.  And the full prices they list on there (that they cross out to show the discounted) are complete BS. 

And, to further plug Amazon, the stuff I ordered that I had been waiting for from Zulily for 5 weeks and ordered from Amazon Saturday were actually delivered to my house yesterday - about 24 hours after I ordered them. 

I totally fell for zulily's "guaranteed by Christmas" BS this year but no more!!!  I will use my $10 credit and then I am done!
