  • I have two:

    1) There will be most likely an embarrassingly large amount of sex being had at my mom's house next week by yours truly during FW. I think my mom knows what's up because she already set up my and DH's room far away from any common area.

    2) I do not know how to play cards. The extent of my knowledge goes to Go Fish and Bullshit but even those I am pretty sure I forgot.

    Psh, I'm smarter than FertilityFriend.

EDIT: Can y'all tell that I'm working hard today?  Last group meeting for the year was yesterday and our holiday party starts at 3pm.  Motivation is non-existant.
Our lab had it's holiday party yesterday.... Now I have no motivation to even be here at all today.

On the European vacation topic: MH and I went to Ireland for a spring break one year in college. We just bought the tickets one day kinda on a whim and I was like, "holy shit, we just bought tickets to Ireland."

I mean, we bought bread from the grocery store and slept in hostels as well as walked and took the bus everywhere. It was really fun though and I'm glad we did it. If I had thought it through I probably wouldn't have gone.

We could never afford it now.

So what do you do if you are having a heavy period that might require backup?

I use extra super tampons and have never had an issue with leakage.

  • FFFC:  It drives me batty looking at the WTO/TWW threads when so many people are manipulating their charts to "make them look better".  Umm, you know that's not the way it works right?  Just put in the data and let FF do it's job.

------- I could dry hump the shit out of you for this. QFMFT got that chart manipulators? ? STOP FUCKING WITH YOUR CHARTS! this is solely directed at the ones who try to make ff say they have ovulated when they havent. There have been too many to count as of late.
Oh, this is an epidemic and not just one person?

KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF NEWBS.

It's one thing if you think you are like 1 or 2 DPO and you want to see what the minimum temps are that would give you crosshairs. That's fun for like 6 months or so. BUT YOU HAVE TO PUT THEM BACK TO YOUR REAL TEMPS.

A pretty chart doesn't make you pregnant. If you aren't smart enough to figure out that faking a chart doesn't increase your chances, well...I'll go with I bet you make a lot of not smart choices in your life. (Because any other option I could come up with gets dangerously close to violating the TOU.)

Not sure if this was directed at me or not, but I just wanted to clarify. I am not necessarily a newb to the board but definitely a newb to temping and have a lot of questions. This was my question from this morning:

I missed taking my temp this morning because DD woke up screaming minutes before my alarm went off to temp. So as a result, I had to go tend to her and then take my temp. It was the same as last morning, 97.90. I did drink more last night than usual. I'm wondering if I should adjust it somehow?

I put in exactly what the thermometer said this morning and have not manipulated any of my temps. I've only been temping for a few days and just getting the hang of it. Thanks for your patience with me, as I'm not trying to annoy anyone. I just want to be sure I'm understanding everything correctly. I can wait for any kind of input on the WTO thread, since that is where the original post is. Again, sorry for the newb questions.

Yeah, that's fine. People are straight up making things up and putting them in their chart and leaving it that way then getting confused why things aren't going like their chart says. Um, because it's not real.

As for your temp question, make notes and leave it for now. It will probably end up being an outlier that FF disregards anyway.

Ok great. Thanks for clarifying. I didn't know FF had the capability of doing that. I appreciate the insight. I'm definitely not about putting in lies on my chart.

  • @GypsySoul1112‌ there are people on the daily posting about changing different metrics like cm, discarding high temps, using the third temp they took over the course of the night, fudging OPKs (taking a bunch of different kinds) etc. I don't think that was a Gypsy call out. Screwing with data because "my timing was better if O was CD11" is the stuff that is problematic.
Ok, I understand. Sorry, I was getting paranoid. I don't see how that would be useful at all.

  • FFFC: I spent time last night looking at the Twitter of a student I have had some run ins with this year and sure enough, he has mentioned me more than once. I had a brief moment of trying to figure out how to sabotage his grade. BUT I would never, ever do this. I am a professional and they earn their grades, regardless of if they are little jerks or not.

I have another one:  I recently bought the DVDs for the entire "Scrubs" series.  (Possibly flame-worthy that I love that show to begin, and/or enough to buy the DVDs to re-watch it, but it gets worse...)

Now I am that girl walking around quoting Scrubs all day and wondering why no one is laughing at my references to a TV show that has been off the air for 5 years.

I think this, and you, are awesome. MH and I love Scrubs so much, we used Book of Love (the song from JD's last day at Sacred Heart) as our first dance - we were watching the rerun and were both like "Why don't we use that?" So we did.

I find newborn baby portrait photos to be super, super creepy. I've yet to see one that makes me do anything other than cringe.

I tend to agree. But then I wonder if I'm just bitter because our NB photos were taken in the NICU and they had to be really creative (lots of blankets, not so many poses) to hide wires and stuff.

FFFC: Andpluslaso, I don't find newborns to be that cute. Especially preemies. They're wrinkled and hairy.

I'm questioning your definition of creepy.

Clowns are creepy. Sleeping, tiny, soft, sweet smelling (I know that doesn't come across in the picture, but use your imagination), snuggly babies with itty bitty fingers and toes - not creepy.

Babies themselves are really cute. I used to work at a daycare during the summers in high school, have 5 nieces/nephews, and was a teacher's aid as a teen for my religious school; I love kids and babies. But, when infants are posed in odd positions like baby mannequins, it weirds me out.

Side-note: I have a clinical phobia of clowns, so those are beyond creepy to me.

What makes them creepy?  99.9% of the time they are sleeping and curled into a ball while wearing cute little knitted outfits.  How does that make you cringe?
That exact thing. Haha. It's just so weird to me. They're still all wrinkly and look like 95-year-old men that have been curled into a ball or put in a pumpkin or something. I can't describe it.

This is immensely creepy to me. I bet baby is super super adorable and I'd love to snuggle it... but the baby being put in that position makes me feel really icky. Sorry!

When they're older and do portraits like this, I think it's amazingly adorable. Maybe it's because they are naturally looking cute and not pre-posed? I have no idea. It's hard to articulate!
