Pregnancy pillows

I searched first but didn't see any topic on pillows for our board. I'm normally a stomach sleeper so changing that is already an adjustment. I'm ok on my side but have been waking up feeling really tight and sore. I tried the full body pillow but end up kicking it off the bed. Does anyone use the C shaped pillow? It just looks huge. I don't know how it'd fit on the bed with myself and my husband. Any pillow recommendations? Ones you tried and dislike? I've been eyeing up the Leachco Snoogle Mini because I'm petite. Not sure if this would be too small.

I'm the opposite of snegde...pillows rule my nights sleep! I have the C and it changed my sleep in the best way possible. We have a king size bed so it's not too big for us. I find it extremely comfortable. Do you know anyone that has one that you can try out before purchasing?

Those giant pillows would make me feel like I was being attacked by Cthulu or something. I've never tried it though, so it's just a guess ;)

I have a giant stuffed animal that is my bed thneed/multi-tool. I mainly use it for back support but comes in handy in other ways too. When I sleep, I am like the princess and the pea. Everything has to be just so or I get cranky. One time, I wondered to myself why I was tilting to one side and discovered that a piece of sheet was under me on one side. Such a drama queen.

I use the Snoogle pillow. It isn't as big as some on the market.

Second vote for the snoogle- I know we've talked about this before. Try to search for it it was pretty helpful.

This is pretty awesome. Is it like one of those giant stuffed animals you'd win at the fair or something? I get pretty cranky about the bed being off too.

I asked DH for a pregnancy pillow for Christmas. Pretty sure it'll be the boppy brand one because he could buy that one at target. I've heard it's not as nice as the snoogle one, but I think it will be helpful.

I have this U shaped one mostly because I didn't want to have to flip the whole pillow when I wanted to switch sides in the middle of the night.  I'm 22 weeks and started using it at about 18.  It's definitely a tight squeeze in our queen size bed but worth it.  When we traveled out of town for Thanksgiving I was trying to make due with regular pillows and was totally uncomfortable all night.  I'll be packing my Back and Belly for Christmas travel.

I love the snoogle. It is large, but fits fine in a queen size bed. I like that I don't have to turn it with me when I roll over at night...rolling over is enough of a project these days!

I am not incredibly tall, so I probably use it a little differently. I use a regular pillow for my head and put it "inside" the "C" shape. So if the only difference in the petite is the length that might work nicely.

It's Stitch from the disney store, maybe 32". I use it to block out the sun or the light from the tv if my daughter is sleeping in the room. I use it as an extra pillow when I was to read lying on my back. When I am lying on my side, I prop the kindle or iPad against it so I don't have to hold it in the air. It's great. I even take it on vacation with me. Seems stupid but it really helps my back a lot, especially in beds that aren't mine.

And stitch is awesome anyways so you win for that automatically. :) it would be super nice to have something else hold the kindle/iPad.

I have a snoggle (it's C shaped) I used it throughout my OG with DS and again this time. I love it. It fits fine in our queen bed, although DH probably relinquishes some of his sleep space when I'm PG!

I tried the boppy just because it was the only one at Target. I hated it and am taking it back. I switch sides often though because my hip starts to ache, and it was a pain in the ass situating it each time I rolled over. An extra pillow between my legs works better for me.

I bought one and couldn't figure out how to use it so I googled. I think it's just an extra large breast feeding pillow. My doctor made me take this week off work(I work in a restaurant where I run a lot and had some cramping he said was due to stress) so I have been trying to get comfy all week. I'm still not really getting it. But I have been watching a lot of Gilmore girls so I can't complain.

Yea, the leachco snooggle total body pillow
Got it for my friend as a congrats-on-your-pregnancy based on awesome reviews & it worked for her late second trimester.  I got myself one, but it's actually not much of a help.  I currently sleep mostly on my left, but a stiffer standard between my knees, & softer pillows under my head, a memory foam pillow against my back & I hold a large stuffed turtle (search squishable online ) just to have something for my arms.  I know, sounds intense.  I might retry that snooggle when I'm bigger

Yes, get the snoogle! It has replaced my body pillow, the two I would put behind me, and the one I use for my head. I am normally a back sleeper and although this pillow looks really silly it helps me not roll on my back and is pretty comfortable.

I also got the snoogle.... wasn't expecting much but I LOVE it!

I think the snoogle mini would be perfect. I have the snoogle, and to me, it's too big. I don't like the part for under my head. If it was just the part that goes between your legs and by your belly (or back, however you use it) it would be great - so that makes the mini just about perfect.

I bought the snoogle after reading a bunch of body pillow threads on here and googled reviews and ways to use it. I know a lot of people on the Google machine said that they tried it for a week and took it back BUT stick with it! I found mine needed to be broken in big time. The first few nights I woke up with the top hook wrapped around my neck (enter there is a giant snake in my bed panick mode) and occasionally when trying to get up 8 times a night to pee you find that it has other plans and wants to keep you in bed forever.... But seriously this has saved my hips big time and kept me from sleeping on my back all night long. Now my snoogle is my one and only forever, sorry DH.

    edited December 2014
I bought the Snoogle Total Body Pillow when I was still in 1st trimester. I didn't "need" it then, and I don't need it now in terms of my belly which hasn't grown big and round yet. I definitely recommend it to other pregnant women. Here are my thoughts:

    • At first, it wasn't easy to sleep with it all night. Either I needed to break it in, or I needed to get used to it. I would start out with it and sometimes during the night switch to a regular pillow if I was uncomfortable. I found it PERFECT for naps and it was comforting during my nauseous times. Through naps and repetition I got super used to it and eventually it was super easy and comfortable to sleep with all night long.
    • It doesn't prop me up as high as my regular pillow- I'm lucky enough to have a SUPER good quality regular pillow because my husband and I sprang for them when we bought our new mattress last boxing day. The pillows were over $100 each but seriously the most comfortable supportive pillows ever and I injured the back of my neck last summer so I was all for a better pillow. Not being propped up as high isn't uncomfortable- but it does mean that when I have a cold or allergies (I'm the one who keeps posting about allergies- which are the bane of my existance at this point in my pregnancy.) I have to switch to my regular pillow just so I don't wake up completely stuffed up in the early morning hours. I'm hoping that now that my cold is almost over and I've invested in an air purifier and a HEPA vaccuum I can switch back to my Snoogle. It sits unused even though it's been so comfortable for me just because my stuffy nose has become the most important thing to me having a good night's sleep. And, at least in my strong opinion, you can't prop a snoogle up with another pillow under or over it. Super uncomfortable.
    • My husband pointed out to me that he thinks I'm using it "upside-down". Frankly, I don't know if that is true- the Snoogle is supposed to be something that can be used in like a billion different ways for every position imaginable. So I'm thinking that "my" position is legit. Either way, I'm going to share my position with you because for me it is SO COMFORTABLE. Turn it so that the long, straight side is towards the middle of the bed and your partner. You may be tempted to turn it the other way for snuggling purposes but it actually works better if you put up a little barricade between you and your husband. lol. I find when it gets close to the edge of the bed it feels less supportive and the other way is WAY BETTER! Next, the curlier "u" end of it goes up at my head and the less curved part goes towards my feet. This is the part my husband thinks is incorrect- and maybe he's right- and maybe when I have more of a bump I'll realize that- but for now this way is WAY more comfortable. I lay my head gently on it. If you feel at all uncomfortable up near your head or neck just raise your head up and make sure the snoogle isn't being pulled at all- no tension- and then lay back down gently. If you are pulling it with your body weight it feels uncomfortable up near the top- not sure that makes any sense but I know what I mean so hopefully someone else does too. Then I lay with my back along the long straight side and I curl the bottom up between my legs super, super high. As high as I can, almost to my chest. I feel like I'm in a comfy nest and this helps me fall asleep. When I want to change positions, I turn the other way toward the straight edge and kind of hug it and rest the bottom between my feet/lower legs however feels comfortable. The best part is that it supports your back (and all of you, really) without you having to lay flat on your back which we're really not supposed to do.
    • It advertises itself as being a nursing pillow for after your baby is born. I thought that was an awesome selling feature but now that I have it I'm not totally convinced I'd use it for nursing. Skeptical. So I've registered for a Jolly Jumper nursing pillow.

I use the Boppy (the three piece one they sell at Target) and quite enjoy it.  Mostly, I just use the between the leg piece, but sometimes I put the thinner pillow under the belly.

I've nicknamed it the "sea monster" because sometimes it feels like you're wrestling one!

I couldn't wait to get myself one of these pregnancy pillows so I got it pretty early in my pregnancy. I have been trying to get along with it for months now, but each and every morning I find it on the other side of our room. I have no idea why it happens, seems like my body hates it while I think I love sleeping with it. It's weird. I think that the smaller ones are better or even just using regular pillows on places where you need extra support.

I have a u-shaped one I got on Amazon. The brand is Khomo. I like it because I constantly flip over and I don't have to move the whole pillow. It's also really long. It's big, but we have a king sized bed. I love it!

I honestly don't sleep without my snoogle pillow... If I don't have it there's no chance in getting more then an hour. It was 50 dollars but it is amazing!!!!! So comfortable! I use to sleep on my stomach so it was hard but with the pillow it just makes me comfortable again but without having to sleep on my stomach☺️good luck!
