Weird dentist appointment

I went to the dentist to get some fillings. I needed two on each side but I was going to have them do one side today and go back for the other side another day. I got the nitrous gas but it was up too high. I started "dreaming" and woke up to hear "you made it through the worst part, you should be starting to get pretty numb." They gave me the numbing shots and I had no idea! I didnt even get to tell him i only want one side done. I then started to feel very nauseated and crappy. I had them turn it down. I have never had an experience like that with the gas. I read online after that if you get nausious, it means you are over sedated. I still feel crappy 2 hours later. Anyone have any interesting things happen like this?

Had that happen once. The nurse turned it on and left, but the dentist took forever to come in. It can be some nasty stuff, I hope you're feeling better now though.

Side note, I had a different dentist decide to replace all the fillings I had from when I was a kid. I asked for the gas and he actually accused me of trying to abuse it and get high. Yup. Found a new dentist.

Same here, just numbing shots and that's it. I thought they don't offer the gas anymore.

My dentist over prescribes it. He's all, 'in for a cleaning, huh? We gonna do gas today?' I'm always put off, but too strung out in nitrous to say anything.

Yep I've only ever had local, even for wisdom teeth. I did however have nitrous during labor. It was no match for my pitocin contractions.

I can't remember now what I had first during labor but it just made me loopy. You know the BTVS episode where it's not clear if she's been in a mental hospital this whole time? It was like that except that I was in my parents' living room.

And yeah, when I had the pitocin, I was in so much pain and still loopy. It was horrible.

@Lissiehoya That episode really threw me for a loop, I was totally believing it. Although I'm glad they didn't decide to come back to it for the finale, that would have been disappointing!
