New thing baby is doing

My 6 week old consistently sucks on my breasts for about 5 straight minutes. Then pulls off and starts crying.  I'll calm him down and try again, and he'll suck for just another minute or two, then do the same thing.  Then I have to calm him down again.  He does the same thing when dad gives him the bottle.  Anyone else going through this?  If I stop feeding all together, he'll cry and show motions to eat.  When I bring him closer he cries.  So frustrating!

Yep when mine does this it's usually because he's being impatient! If he doesn't get a let down right away he pulls away, cries, etc. It usually happens in the evening when I'm less full or if he wants to nurse soon after I've pumped. It also happens when he is gassy so maybe that's the case with the bottle? My husband burps him constantly when he takes a bottle because he gulps so much air.
