I'm not Jewish but attended a Jewish PA school so I have lots of friends who celebrate! Happy Hanukkah to those SAIF ladies who celebrate. What traditions are you doing and/ or gifts are you getting your LO's?
We light candles every night and made latkes tonight. LO got a 28 inch mickey and minnie doll to sleep with. She got the annoying vtech train. She got a barney DVD, puzzle, outfit, little people disney castle that makes fireworks I am most excited about this:) we give her one gift a night just like when I was little. We also have some Hanukkah books we read.

I grew up with a Catholic mom and Jewish dad. I have a menorah, but my DH used the candles in our jack-o-lanterns without telling me I told myself that I will be better about it next year.
Sorry about your candles...totally sounds like something my DH would do
Happy Hannukah to everyone who celebrates the Festival of Lights.
I have started to impress in a way DD can understand that Christmas is a wonderful holiday, that the lights and tree are beautiful, that Santa is fun but it is not our custom. I will get off my soapbox but I feel strongly that it takes more than lighting a menorah (technically called a channukiah) to have a Jewish household.
We light candles, say the blessings and sing a Hannukah song every night. LO receives a gift every night. Most of them are small-cute socks, glitter pens, and construction paper, a game and a toy piano from us. She has two extremely generous grandparents (DH's divorced parents) who go overboard with gifting. She also receives in abundance from SMIL's parents and brother and SIL.
We wil eat the traditional latkes and Hannukah decorated cookies I'll make this w/e at the family Hannukah party on Sunday. I will also attempt a simple age-appropriate craft with LO that I saw on Pinterest.
