I figured I'd post this here instead of in the random thread.

I work for an independent branch of a very large investment company. So 4.5 years ago when I started my current job one of the 2 bosses was on his way out the door to retire. He built the book of business and was selling the book to boss 2. Boss 2 was to work for several more years while priming boss 3 to buy the book from her. Well with fees and such it made more sense for her to retire but still get paid for the next 4 years for the book. So boss 3 is in the process of buying the book.

He came out of his office yesterday (there's just him and I now) and told me he wanted to discuss the future of the office with me. Long story short, I'm going to be taking my series 7 to become a license financial representative and eventually I'll be buying the book from him. This is HUGE for us financially and career wise for me.

I'm so excited and so nervous that I could puke! I never thought I'd be doing this but I'm so excited for the opportunity.
