PTSD & Trauma Therapy

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a good day, so my intellectual mind is winning and I know I can't be the only one carrying around some major trauma from loss, the birth, and what happened with our babies.

I just spoke with someone who runs a local baby loss group, and she is going to try to dig up some local people doing good trauma therapy of different types, but I'm wondering if any of you have found anything super awesome.

So far my therapist mostly just does trauma focused CBT-type stuff.   Lots of body tracking and grounding exercises.   I find it helpful for anxiety, but not so helpful around physical triggers.   I'm currently looking into more of an art therapy, massage, or trauma yoga to address some of that.

Do any of you do trauma therapy?   Any types you've found that are helpful or not?   Anything you would like to try that you're looking into?

That's an interesting idea. I have just tried targeted muscle exercises (starting at toes- flexing and relaxing muscles) and meditation. I'm going to be checking back on this thread.
