@krissykingy -about the amino, I would suggest you think about how would the results of it affect your decisions on your baby and his care - if it does not change what you will do ... Is it worth it? If getting results (neg/positive for Downs) is just to give you time to prepare, then you have to weigh whether it would be worth it or not (does the knowledge outweigh the danger?).
I am sorry about the cleft lip / palate news. I never had any sign there was a cleft palate with my son, so it could happen to any baby. You know ahead of his birth, so hopefully it gives you some peace to be able to help your child from birth.
It is also unnerving I would imagine about his having one kidney (birth defects are more common in babies that have a cleft lip / palate - we still have not found if my son has one... It is worrisome to not know). But as people say, a normal life is still had by those born with one kidney.
I don't know what to say that will help you feel better, but I hope you take good care of yourself and try to do things that minimize your stress with such news. Be easy on yourself. Your child is meant to be here and is meant to have you as his momma.
Update::: had first lot of test back from amnio test and nothing found had to wait till after xmas for results. So as u can imagine xmas was very quite. Just waiting for full results.. I also had my diabetes check today so fingers crossed thats ok xx |)
GL with the full test results. I'm hoping you get good news. As others have stated, the surgery to correct cleft palates has come a long way and it is possible to lead a normal life with one kidney. I'll be thinking of you.
Update had full amnio test results back and nothing else has been detected.... Im so happy I could scream x Thank You all for your kind messages and support.. Now I can relax a little and enjoy the rest 3 months left ☺
