Any other ladies have this?

Yes. I had one and started bleeding Sunday night. I've had a ultrasound to confirm baby still has a HB and a pelvic exam to confirm my cervix is still closed. It's very scary, but also common from what I've been told.

So thankful I'm not alone. I haven't bled hardly any.. Which is what worries me most Lol praying we both have Healthy babies! When are you due?

  • i have one too. had very light spotting 2 weeks ago and had an ultrasound that revealed the SCH. haven't seen anymore blood but i do discharge more. i have my NT scan in 2 weeks and we will check on it then.
  • Yes. I do. Started bleeding on Monday morning and am currently on bed rest. I haven't bled again since on bed rest. It's definitely scary. I go back to the doctor on Thursday. Hoping for good news.
  • I had a small subchorionic hemmorage seen on my 7 week 5 day US. Went back in at 10 weeks and this completely resolved. It's a common US finding and many times people can still have healthy babies despite the bleeding. Hoping all goes well with your follow up!
  • Hi I am a newbie here on the boards but this caught my eye. SH are common in early pregnancy and should be resolved by 10 to 12 weeks. If it is still there, it CAN resolve by 17 weeks. But it is rare to still have it by then. Even rarer to have it after 20 weeks and by then it is a cause of bleeding and separation of the placenta. EVEN THEN, in that very rare occurance for the mom to still have a chronic bleed resulting from a separation between the placenta that the SH is causing, it can still be a good outcome. I know a few Mamas with unresolved SH and of those, all had their babies after 24 weeks, including my son who was born at 25 weeks and is now 3 and a half. I was of the rarest and he was my 5th child. No previous preemies or any complications prior to him. None so far with this little one. I did not know I had an SH tho, until I hemorrhaged at 11 weeks. Im sure if I had known and had it monitored and rested, it would have resulted a lot differently.
  • I had a huge bleed and was took to hospital in a ambulance. Put on a drip and told its a likely misscarrage. Went for a US the next day and they said there was a small SCH but most of it had bled out. Went back for a further scan the week after and its back but bigger. Going for a dating scan next week (will be 13 weeks) to see if it's got smaller or bigger. Mines to the top and I have been told it's more dangerous at the top because the placenta can come away from the baby. She said my baby's growing well though and not to panick.
  • I just went to my first Ultrasound yesterday and I am measuring at exactly 9 weeks. My Dr. Informed me that I had a small blood clot in my Uterus which come to find out is known as SH. He didn't sound too worried other than telling me absolutely no sex and to see him in a week so they could take another look at it. I was so caught up in the happy moment because this was right after seeing my baby moving around for the first time that they worrying didn't hit me till now. I am just praying that come Monday I will get more answers and good news!
  • I had one with DS. It was seen on 17 week ultrasound and I ended up with very heavy bleeding a few weeks later. Everything checked out ok and bleeding stopped after a few hours.
  • I started to bleed yesterday morning. Today's ultrasound showed a SCH below the twins. My doctor said its a safer placement and very common. The ultrasound showed no active bleeding but they are going to see me weekly till it resolves. I haven't bled since yesterday morning and have been put on bed rest for the time being. My doctor and I are both being very cautious due to my past history so I know not all women get put on bed rest. T&P for everyone!
  • I was told I have a small one at my first dating ultrasound two and a half weeks ago. I've never had any bleeding/spotting, etc...whatsoever during this entire pregnancy. I'm currently 11w3days. Does this mean it's resolved itself? Or should I expect bleeding in the near future?
  • My OB discovered one on my first u/s. She said it was nothing to worry about and that it would probably go away. (Mine is less than a cm wide.)

  • Found this thread while searching "subchorionic." I'm leaving the ER in a bit -- I'm 8w1d and came in for light bleeding,, turns out I have a small SH. Third pregnancy, but first time with this issue. Hoping it resolves on its own.
  • I'm 11w5d and a SH was found at my 9w u/s after I had bleeding a few times. Third pregnancy, never had problems before, so I was scared but my dr said not to be concerned unless I was bleeding enough to soak a pad. He never told me to take it easy or anything and I've only had a little spotting since. I have an appt in 2 weeks so hearing the heart beat again will be a huge relief :) good luck to you all!!
  • I also had some spotting around 6+4. Did an ultrasound and showed SCH as well. The good news was that the baby had a heart beat already, so risk of miscarriage was lower. I was told to take leave from work (work as a nurse in an acute pediatric hospital), no sex, and no lifting. I continue to spot every 1-3 days. I'm 9weeks now. My doctor didn't think I needed to get another ultrasound until I see my OB around 11weeks, but definitely need modified work assignment. So just take easy and only be concerned if I bleed and have severe cramps... then I must go to the ER.

    Hope yours resolves!
  • Thanks ladies. Its much easier to know I'm not alone! No bleeding only spotting but I took it upon myself to do bed rest. Doctor didn't give me any orders so I'm hoping all is good. Went to the hospital about 3 days ago for pain and dehydration and its still there but not much was said. Praying for you all along with myself! I'm 11 weeks and 4 days today!

I am currently 12 weeks. At 7w5d I passed some large clots and filled a panty liner (not a pad, but still) with bright red blood. Had my first prenatal scheduled for you next day, and they found the heart best right away. I bled again with some small clots again some darker blood 5 days later (F) and had to go back in (M). 9w sonogram showed our little guy bobbing his head, but they identified a large (imo) pocket of blood. They told me to expect more bleeding while the clot passed or was re-absorbed. Bled a bit more for the next few days, but haven't seen anything since. Hoping it's resolved!
  • I had one with my last pregnancy and it resolved within a short time. I want to say maybe 8 weeks? I was told not to do any heavy lifting or anything else strenuous - he was my 3rd so I did normal stuff with the other 2, but stopped exercising just until it resolved. Good luck. I had never heard of it until I had one but apparently they are very common.

They saw one when i was 5wks. I went back at 7wks and my body had reabsorbed some of it. The u/s tech said its common and the body usually reabsorbs them. She said mine wasn't really near the baby either so i felt a lil better. Im currently 9wks 3days. Having sum good pregnancy hormones cuz my morning sickness is all day all night.

I think it's too alot of reassurance that this thread got so much feedback. So many women in our stage of pregnancy are going thru the same thing.
