Anyone try it? The method i was considering is 20 min on 10 off 10 on 10 off 10 on. What time of day do you do it? Does it increase supply in general or just at that time?
I've tried this method for a few days, but I have a hard time fitting it in consistently, so maybe that's why I haven't seen any increase. I usually try in the early evening, but I should probably try later in the night after munchkin has gone to sleep. But after about 3 days I didn't see any effect.
I was looking into other methods to increase supply, mainly pumping for an extra 5 minutes every time, to see if that worked.
I was worried about my supply when I went back to work, so I would pump until I was empty and then hand express. I would then put the pump back on with the fast suck at highest setting until I got another letdown. Then pump till empty and end with hand expressions. It seriously boosted my supply. My supply was high for about a week after I stopped doing that. (I stopped because it turns out that I was worried for no reason- my supply was fine after going back to work).
I will warn that it caused LO major spit up when he nursed because I would letdown quickly so he would get too much too quickly. He also had a lot of green poop.
@atlgirl88 I think it's recommended you do it for a week before results. I may try it but it will be difficult. @natalien1181 I am the worst water drinker. I haven't found it to make much difference for me when I drink more, but I should try it. @Eena1242 that is a great idea that I haven't heard. I would love if I could increase my supply without pumping at night because I really like to go to bed when LO does so I can get that long stretch.
I did when I was EPing with DD. I did it in the morning. I found that while I got more milk it didn't increase my overall supply. I was also terrible about drinking water though so I think that was part of my problem. I found that increasing my pumping time at each session was more effective for increasing my supply than power pumping was.
