My in-laws "moved" to Australia

I say "moved" because it's temporary, probably about a year, but it's still pretty crazy.  My FIL got an opportunity at his work to get on a project in Australia and they've always wanted to live overseas.  My youngest BIL finally graduated high school so now seems to be the time to do it.

My MIL is pretty overbearing and very obsessed with family time.  It's good and bad of course, but she'll be anywhere anytime regardless of cost, getting time off work, etc.  I am not sure how she's going to handle being in another country with her 3 grandkids growing so fast.  I know we will have to coordinate a lot of video chats (which will be fun since they're 15 hours ahead of us) but I'm not sure that will be enough for her.

I still can't believe they are in Australia, lol..pretty big change, but hopefully she ends up loving it and getting a great experience out of it!

MIL took a job with heavy international travel (and we live in different states) so she isn't getting to see the grand kids anywhere near as much as she had thought she would. She sends the kids postcards from her travels and we do facetime. You guys will make it work. Any chance you will get to go to Australia for a visit? I would be trying to work that into the 2015 budget!

Australia is definitely on the list of places I want to go but with two toddlers, unfortunately no.

DH asked if I'd consider leaving the kids with a babysitter but coordinating that (we have no family nearby) and being soo far from them isn't something I'm interested in yet. If they are still there in a couple years, then yes!

My little brother lived in Australia for 4 months a few years ago. He loved it. He would always send me pictures of kangaroos and koalas just chillin in parks and stuff. It was so crazy to me.

I flipping love koalas.  My FIL has actually been there a couple months even though MIL just joined him yesterday and I kept asking him to send me pictures.  So cute!

Obviously I don't know for certain, but I'm willing to bet there are several on the board at least mildly annoyed by your posts. I'm a pretty mean person, so it's taken a lot for me not to give you any "snark". You posts bug the shit out of me for two reasons:

1. They come off very Dear Diary/blogish. Other bumpies have been told to start a blog before. I'm not sure why you haven't.

2. You only participate in your own threads. You never respond to any others. Thanks a lot for caring about the rest of us.

I know, I know. If I don't like your threads, don't read them. Guess what? I don't, but my eyes roll pretty hard every time I see one.

Okay, well I guess this isn't the right place to be posting these.  I thought it was really just about starting conversations, as I've seen complaints about the boards being dead sometimes. And if you'd like, I can provide you a chart of all the replies I've given the various posters on here and then we can sit down and talk about the ratio of common threads to random thoughts.

I did see you reply to the Tuesday talk thread. Bravo. But you only talked about yourself and no one else. Maybe I've totally missed your responses, but you really only seem to talk about yourself or in your threads.

Definitely too bad that you have that idea about me. I stalk people a lot waiting for updates on husbands, sick kids, pregnancies, etc etc.  And I feel I reply a good bit.  Regardless, I don't come on the boards for drama or to be pissed off, so if there are really people on here that find my posts annoying, it's not the place for me.  Hope your day just got better!

There are several people who reply to your threads.  Don't leave because you annoy me.  I'll continue not reading your posts.  It's totally cool.  We're adults.  This is the internet.  There's plenty of room.
