@AppleGrapeMSTK - I hope your LO feels better and good luck with the shots today!
@AmandaJean12 - I was so scared to take off the band aids! But it was not bad at all, DD barley moved. Good luck!
Good luck to all the ladies with 2 month shots today!
I am supposed to be working from home today - but little work is being done... I have the LO and waiting for my MIL to come over so we can drop my car off for some routine work and a little shopping. DD wouldn't let me put her down this morning and I finally was able to put her in her car seat where she has been sleeping the last 45 minutes. I will take it.
She only got up once last night and H got up with her at 5:30 this morning so I got a 4 hour stretch then a 5 hour stretch! I feel like a new person.
We are hosting our first large family Christmas party on Saturday and there is SO much work to be done its not even funny, on top of that I find out today if I have to go in for jury duty tomorrow...yay! (Que sarcasm) I am hoping I don't have to go ( I am a reserve juror) so I can take the day off and clean clean clean!
I just took and passed the real estate exam! I was planning to take it during maternity leave before baby was born, but was just too tired. I'm so happy to be done with studying when I could be sleeping.
This is the longest I've been away from LO...with the commute, it will have been about 5 hours. I know this is nothing compared to being at work, but I haven't been able to pump this whole time.
Hope everyone is having a happy Tuesday...Christmas is so soon!
The biggest issue with DS1 throwing up is that he is scared to throw up. He fights back puke every time he gags, and then when he actually throws up, he cries. My poor miserable little boy.
Question on tummy time. We try and hit the minimum of 15 minutes a day. But do you count the time when LO isn't actually trying to hold their head up? Sometimes DD will just lay there, especially when we do it on our chests...so while I know it's good to relieve pressure from the back of her head, she isn't working her muscles at all.

I am no help because I usually forget to do tummy time most days and when I do, it's for about 3 minutes altogether. I think you would count the time altogether even when her head isn't up though. Good on you for getting in so much daily!!
What. The. Fuck. I've gained 3 lbs in three days?? How is this even possible?! I've been restricting calories, completely eliminated dessert, and been trying to work out by doing squats and lunges while I'm holding Gavin. I want to cry. I don't know what's wrong with me.
@MrsBabe614 good luck with the schedule, keep us updated I'm curious to know if it helps!
I'm close to having a melt down, what an earth made me think moving house with an 8 week old the week before Christmas was logical?! I've been surrounded by boxes and a crying baby all day, now he's fallen asleep so I think I will to... Packing is on hold for now.
@megrobsonx I totally understand! We just moved when lo was 6 weeks and we spent a week getting our house ready to sell after we moved out so everything is still in boxes. Plus I have two other kids. I can't find my kitchen stuff and clothes are missing. It's crazy. Then we may move across country in june.
I never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait for DH to get home and hold E for a bit so that I can do the dishes, start dinner, do some laundry, and sweep.
What's wrong with me, choosing housework over holding baby? Maybe it's that I've been literally holding him all day...except for when he or his brother needed a diaper change. Mama needs a break to get stuff done!
@shannonshare congratulations!!

I think if you're doing tummy time for 15 min+ every day, just count all the time regardless of if she is trying to hold herself up or not. You're giving her the opportunity and the older she gets, the more she's going to move. Unless she's NOT holding her head up ever, and there's a reason to be concerned, I think you're totally fine.
We have a case that needs a short written brief done, and DH refuses to even attempt writing such things so I said fine, I'll do it, but you need to be on baby duty today. He seemed to think this was saying he got a vacation day or something. Then he tells me, he invited friends over tonight who haven't seen our new house yet. I said fine, then you are on baby AND cleaning duty today.
He now seems to be learning that the days I don't accomplish much actual WORK, I'm still working. Oh, she wants to be held and you want to do something that requires two hands? Welcome to my world.

Could your scale be off?
This sounds like a possibility. I mean, my scale has been consistently 10+ lbs off since I bought it.

Is there a way to tell if it's off? I went to the doc two weeks ago and it said I weighed the same as my home scale. I have no idea how I could have gained 3lbs since Sat.

No idea...my comment was intended as a joke. Like a "the scale lies!" kinda joke. Whoops!

Anyone know anaheim well? We're going to Disneyland for Christmas, and I'm looking for someplace good for Christmas dinner. Any suggestions? I currently have a reso at jazz kitchen in DT Disney, but only cause it's close and the only place I could get a reso so far....

Are you wearing different clothes? Did you poop recently? Shower this morning? What did you eat today? Your weight will naturally vary by about 2lbs in either direction day to day, and it matters what time you weigh yourself too.
Experts recommend weighing yourself once a week. Same day, immediately upon waking (but after using the restroom), naked. That gets you the most accurate, consistent weight.
Ugh, i have to get this out. I have a 2nd cousin that just named his kid Lucifer and keeps nicknaming HIM Luci. No, seriously, my 2nd cousin is calling his SON Luci(e). Kid is only a week old and is already going to have a complex.

Haha. Oh. I'm dumb.
Is it a digital scale or the kind with the numbers that go around in a circle? If it's digital, it's probably right. The other kind should be sitting on zero before you step on it.
What PP said about the 2 lbs fluctuation in any direction is normal. Although I'd personally rather have the other way...I'm sorry friend. Stick with it. It'll probably be a couple weeks before you notice a difference. My BIL trains prefessional athletes and he told me to add shit to my laundry basket and push it around. Lol maybe you could stick your daughter in one and shove her around the house?
Put a weight on the scale and see if it shows the proper weight.
Also, don't weigh yourself so often, lady! weight fluctuates depending on time of day, stomach & intestine contents, water, etc., so it's best not to weigh too often and at different times - it's not a true value.
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14. TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.
Pumping at work---why does pumping have to take so long?? I have so many other things to do!
Also--my little lady had the biggest poopsplosion I've ever seen today. It actually dripped off her pants when I was bringing her to the changing table...and then not knowing that, I stepped in it and then on the carpet. Ewwwww.

With kids? I personally like Tortilla Joe's over Jazz Kitchen. Strong margaritas.
House of Blues is great, but probably not for an infant. (Unless you get headphones.)
Any interest in eating in the parks? Ca Adventure has better restaurants for sit down stuff IMO.
Thank you! And yes, with 3 kids (4,5&10weeks) We had a reso at wine country trattoria, but decided to skip Christmas Day in the park, so now we're looking outside for options.
I got the results of my thyroid ultrasound this afternoon. It's slightly enlarged on both sides, and there are a few nodules. My endocrinologist just recommended getting another ultrasound in four months to see if there are any changes. TSH was normal. And my A1C was 5.8, which is good news for my diabetes management.
I only weigh myself every few weeks to avoid driving myself crazy with the little fluctuations.
@starla487 - We have a Levana and I love it!
@JJsMum - In my opinion a girl name is probably still better than the name of the devil... and I'm not even religious :-/
M hung out in his little seat in the bathroom and gave me enough time to get showered and ready! I even have (fresh) mascara on!
This is true. I think I'm having a hard time processing everything, and my poor brain got hung up on that one part. His older boys are Gabriel and Rafael, and they use normal nicknames for them, but I just want to know what the hell kind of drugs they were on when they came up with this! Lots of the family has already chimed in that they refuse to call the poor boy either of those names and will refer to him by his middle name (James). Neither family is religious (his or hers), but everyone is disgusted with their decision. I'm hoping that he'll post soon that the whole thing is a prank and the kid's name is Michael or something else to stick with their theme.
@Emerald27 What is wrong with you? Absolutely nothing. You need time to yourself, even if it is spent cleaning.
Well DH didn't get it. Lol when I explained that I was tired and needed a break, he insisted that I sit and relax holding baby while he makes dinner and cleans up. Sweet unicorn husband doesn't understand, but I'll take it since LO is asleep, and I'll bump on my phone since DS1 is helping daddy in the kitchen.

Do you think Luke can be a NN for Lucifer? I'm normally one to say just let the parents pick the name, but this is pretty sucky.

It's the Silent Night one so I might be crying from wishing my kid would sleep.
