DH and I plan to use the name Jack if little bean is a boy. My first thought of middle names a Ryan, but wonder if it sounds too short with both names being one syllable. Or last name is one syllable as well. We don't have any family names that go with Jack. Looking for any middle name suggestions. Thanks!

It's a fictional character from John Clancy's books, and they made movies starring Harrison Ford and Chris Pine based on them.

ETA: I love the name Jack, and we regret using it on our dog 6 years ago. 

For a middle name,  I feel like Jack works better with a longer middle name. Here are a few suggestions.

Love Jack but I do think a longer middle name would be better especially since your last name is also one syllable. Plus Jack Ryan is a character.

I don't mind Jack by itself. Agree that it needs a longer middle name.

I gues I don't mind it as a full name as the only thing I will accept it as a nn for is John and I know that that is a bit dated

Thanks everyone, totally didn't think about Jack Ryan the character. I've been thinking a longer middle name was the way to go and now we have a great list of options!
