Very newly pregnant, and had spotting after bowel movement.

I just found out I was pregnant. This morning I spotted right after a bowel movement. The bleeding stopped right away. Is this normal? I called my Dr. and told her about the spotting. She said to watch it and call back if it gets worse. I'm just looking for a little mom to mom reassurance.

This happens to me, too. And it's definitely coming from the front end. I notified my OB last week to let them know it was happening after bowel movements, and at other random times. They had me come in for an ultrasound since I was experiencing cramping too, and everything was okay. The one thing that helps me, is sitting with my feet up, and drinking a lot of water. Your uterus and cervix are super sensitive right now, and pushing may expel some of the icky brown stuff. Just keep an eye on it, if you are filling a pad with bright red blood in an hour, with or without cramping, that's more cause for concern. I understand it's scary, just try and rest and get a lot of water. I work a desk job so I prop my feet up on my recycle bin under my desk! Good luck.

I agree it sounds like bleeding hemorrhoids. Next time it happens try to determine the actual source of the bleeding. If you have been constipated ask your doctor about what you can take to help with that

You can strain to expel waste & cause cervical spotting. So, it is possible to have bleeding from both areas in this instance. Colace is your friend!
