first trimester check up

Had my first good ultra sound this past week. The measurements of the back of our babies neck were larger then normal, also the yolk sack. Which has then concerned with down syndrome or Turner syndrome. Of course this isn't something you hope for your child. We will love our baby no matter what. But my question is, have many others had this happen and it turn out differently?

I'm a little confused. If the yolk sac was still there, then how did they measure the baby's neck? Isn't it completely gone by the 7th week? Then there's the placenta instead.
