Venting- woke up with a pounding headache and took blood pressure to see it was high again. It's been high since last weeks appointment and they asked me to call if I developed anymore symptoms that could be related to preeclampsia. Called nurses line at 10:15, she said they would call me back as soon as she heard from doctor on call that she was forwarding info to. Two hours later I have no call back from the doctor, have now thrown up twice, and the doctors office is on lunch until 1:30. Ugh! I loved my OBs office until right now. Frustrating for sure.

Hello ladies,

Been training a new person all morning so this is my first opportunity to bump. I'm starting to get really paranoid about my showers being so late.. I'm due 2/11 and my showers are 1/11 and 1/18. My mom had her first 3 weeks early. Luckily DH and I have stocked up on MOST of the essentials like PNP, car seat, diapers, wipes, some clothes, etc. So really, we would be fine if he came early, but I feel like there's so many other things we need. This is really sounding like a bratty problem the more I type. Moving on...

Sorry to hear so many ladies are struggling with pregsomnia, add me to that list too.

Got together all my Christmas gifts to mail today - and it was like a comedy of errors carrying them all in on public transportation. Luckily, there was nothing really fragile in any of the boxes because I legit dropped them a few times (and tripped over the curb a few times as well). $60 later and I am box free.

@kellym690 lay on your left side and take your bp again in 20 minutes while laying down. My bp is high and I've been dx'd with gestational hypertension. Keep a record of your bp and the times you take it. If it's still high call back and say you are going to the hospital if you don't get a response. Usually works for me to get a call back.

Gah it's Monday. One day closer to LO being here. Had an incredibly difficult time yesterday with thinking about all that needs to be done. My procrastination has caught up with me and now I'm feeling INCREDIBLY overwhelmed. The nursery isn't done. The projects I started, welp, they're still just "started". There is SO MUCH to do still and when I think about it, it's starting to give me anxiety! 

I seriously just want to cry into a pint of Cherry Garcia...

Last week someone I know from high school added me on Facebook. We exchanged meassages. She is filling up my news feed on a daily basis. I posted a pic of DD with Santa. She shared it...really?!

I replied to one of her messages and also asked if she would please not share my personal photos as I prefer to keep them private.

She responds with that since she thought we were friends she wanted to share bc she is proud of her friend and her family and she didn't think I'd take it personal.

I'm not sure why she is getting pissy here. She's the one who just shared my kid with people I don't know. I asked her politely not to do it.

Yeah, I do not get it at all.  I get if it was your MIL, or mom, or somebody who is family, but just a high school friend -- no.  If she does it again,you can chose who sees stuff when you post it.  (and it can be all but____) I would totally do that.

My marathon shopping trip yesterday has caught up with me.  I am sort.. like work out sore, on my legs and butt.  I am just exhausted too.  Is today over?  I just need to get to the end of this week.  I took off on next monday to clean and finish all the last minute christmas stuff.   We work only 1/2 day on the 23rd as it is our office party too.  Then we are off 24, 25 and i used my last vacay day for the 26th.  If i can just make it through this week.. that is it.

I had this happen but with my dad's new wife, who has never had kids. She shared our baby's sex reveal cake on Facebook before we had even told my kids that they would have a little sister! (All the grandparents had been over for pink cake, while my kids were with their dad for the night). I felt uncomfortable asking her to take it down until after we had revealed to everyone else, but I was frustrated that she didn't ask our permission first and she needed to know that.

In my opinion, if its not YOUR kid, ask the parents permission before sharing or posting on social media.

DS is unusually whiny (he's not normally a whiny kid) and peed my bed because he didn't want to put my tablet down to go to the potty so it was a rough morning. Otherwise, I'm enjoying an unproductive day. Might get feisty and do some cleaning since I'm seeing how messy DH let the house get while I was mostly MIA over the past few months. We'll see how far I get before my back decides it was a bad idea lol

Watched the first half of the Nick Offerman special on Netflix last night before DH started snoring and I went to bed (he snores SO loud!). I can't get the rainbow song out of my head.. He kills me! I LOVE Offerman and can't wait to watch the rest of it later today. I'm gonna wait til DS goes down for his nap, though

It's like DDs terrible twos sprang up over night last week. I miss my sweet, quiet, napping child. I hope I see her again one day!

Did my last handmade market this Saturday. As far as sales go, it definitely was a bummer considering it was a big Christmas event weekend at the center, and 2 weeks before Christmas. I am VERY relieved to be done with those until after baby comes tho. Everything now is online orders only, which means I can do it in my PJs.

DH redid our office into the boys room all by himself! I'm so stoked! We just need to find a dresser, a 2nd crib, and maybe a rocker/glider. Its so nice DS has his own room for all his toys now. He loves being able to just run around in it.

I need to find some cold weather maternity clothes. This CA girl is freezing in 50 degree weather. I only have 10 weeks left so I don't want to spend money, but I'm cold! None of my coats fit. Guess its time to hit the thrift store...

@MaddScientist‌ if you're in the US, you can request a pickup online from the USPS or FedEx. (As long as you already have the postage stamped.) I have a mail scale, and I'm never going back! Haha.

Not sure if you have checked out oldnavy. They have some of their maternity jackets etc for like $25-$40. Just a thought.  

I havent purchased a maternity coat or jacket, but living in NOLA, I have barely needed a sweater so its ok.

Yeah, I needed to buy postage (and stamps!)- so that wouldn't have worked. The good thing is that I went to a post office in the university (after most classes are over now) so there was no line (unlike a regular post office this time of year and definitely today). However, that meant I needed to cart 3 boxes in on 2 buses that are busy in the morning. 

My hands froze on my mile walk to the first bus - it was a high of 63 today so I didn't think about it - however, it was also 30 when I left this morning - whoops. 

The second bus I just basically dropped them in the aisle and stood next to them (the bus was really full) and made everyone getting off use the other doors till my stop. (gah I am a horrible commuter but at that point I didn't even care!)

If you have your privacy settings set so that only friends can see your photos (and you should do this, by the way, otherwise random strangers searching google can see your images if they are "public"), it doesn't matter who "shares" your photos, only people who are YOUR friends can see the photo. She would have to actually download the photo and re-upload the photo as her own in order for non-mutual friends to see it. I hope that makes sense...my kids are being awfully needy.  

But yeah, she sounds totally weird. I would either unfriend, or block her to only things that you share with the public at large (that means anyone on the world wide web). 

BTW, my kids' doctor doesn't even know how to change her privacy settings on facebook...I was thinking maybe I should politely tell her sometime that anyone who is not a friend can see everything she posts...

I wouldn't be surprised if the next few weeks were a little slow here, even with randos. Between getting ready for the holidays and then celebrating them, my guess is that people are busy. Personally, I've been trying to book a ticket to MD so I can sneak in to the MD GTG and ambush them with awesome TX stuff like armadillos and beef.

I don't understand some of these crazy names. If my mom or MIL tried to insist on something like Momsy or OtherMother I think I'd laugh in their faces. There is only one woman that will be called anything close to Mom by my daughter and that's me. I have a Granny and Grandma, Papa and Grandpa. Last I heard, my parents want to go by Grammy and Grampa, the in-laws Mimi and Papa. I could be wrong about the in-laws though.

First time spamming today and oh my what fun!  

Work was pretty crazy, but I found a pediatrician, so that was good.  Turns out the place I called, one of the Drs lives down my street.  he won't be our Dr, cause he isn't taking new patients, but still...nice to have someone close!
