New member- long and somewhat whiny intro.

Hey ladies,

I'm 35 TTC#1 for 6 months, also been married for about 6 months. I'm currently in the TWW and making myself crazy. Based on a temp dip the past two days I'm pretty sure I"m out, but I've also had bad sleep, waking up at 5 when I normally temp at 6 and intense night sweats.  So, still have some vestige of hope. I'm doing acupuncture (have been for about 3 months), temping and have an off-again on-again relationship with OPKs. I bought the fertility monitor off someone on craigslist, then I got annoyed with it because I felt like it was programmed to do things, like give me a certain number of peak days and stuff. I don't know. Maybe I'm dumb and should have kept using it. Then I get some regular digital OPKs but they came too late (not prime shipping) so even though I started using them on CD13, I never got a positive this month. Bleh. Then, this month FF kept switching my ovulation day, at one point telling cd10, cd14, cd15, cd 17, back to cd 15 and now back to cd14. So, who knows?  

On top of all of that, on cd 21 (6 dpo? 7 dpo?) I had crazy pain in my left ovary that would come and go all day, thought maybe i had a cyst bursting, went to doc, they did an ultrasound, found nothing. Then I got hopeful thinking it was maybe implantation as it was coupled with a temp drop and intensely sore boobs for two days (something I've never had before).  But with this second temp drop (mostly at the wrong times and not after a three hour sleep) I really don't know what to think.  Anyway, all will be revealed in the fullness of time, I just needed to get all of this out because it's making me nuts. Starting to lose hope and get frustrated with this whole process. It is such a roller coaster and there's really no one I can share with. So I figured it was time to join this group.

I just wanted to say welcome, and that you have my sympathies. The 2ww wait can be awful.

Are you thinking about seeing an RE if this month doesn't pan out for you?

Thanks. @kateLouise, yes I have an appointment with my regular gyn to start the process and we'll see what he says. I got the appt in november figuring that I could always cancel if we got lucky since it takes so long to get an appt. I thought I had to wait a year, but then I realized that at 35 they'll talk to you at 6 months. So fingers crossed we don't need it, but not looking too likely at this point.

If you do end up using the fertility monitor again, go on their website and read all the directions. You need to do a manual resetting for yourself. You are quite right that it was still set to the previous woman's cycle. I still need to read the manual regularly, so just download it. Also, their reps are very helpful if you have questions (or at least one was!) Good luck.

Welcome...so many of us have similar thoughts and feelings. I have gotten a lot of support in a short time here. Although I think about it a lot more too. Wishing you the best of luck.
