Zofran & Diclegis - NOT WORKING

Ladies... I am beyond sick of being sick!!! Dr said it was not normal that my zofran was not working so she put me on Diclegis. Followed the routine of it and I'm now on day 5 (up to 4 doses per day/max dose) and I'd say about a 30% improvement overall. I'm starting to lose hope that I'm just doomed until the m/s goes away on its own. I feel so useless and disgusting. Ugh!!! Anyone else?

Re: Zofran & Diclegis - NOT WORKING

  • Me! :( neither medication helps me at all. I spend all day every day miserable. At this point I am just praying it stops at the first trimester. With my first I was sick like this until 26 weeks!!! Hugs I wish I could make us both feel better because this sucks and is miserable.

  • Oh god, I'm discouraged now. My m/s has been through the roof and I'm hoping they give me SOMETHING so I can eat again.

  • I feel your pain, every day is a struggle! My OB prescribed me zofran, reglan, and phenergan. The only one that works is phenergan and that's because it knocks me out so I can only take it at night. I'm currently on disability due to this MS, it lasted until 20 weeks with DS but I'm hoping that's not the case this time! I honestly feel only time will relieve me from this misery! ((Hugs)) hopefully all of us get some relief soon!

My OB suggested vitamin B every morning. I never actually tried it as my m/s has begun to subside a bit this week (11w) but have heard it works. Also having some saltine crackers first thing in the morning before getting out of bed seemed to help me a bit some mornings and lots of soup for lunch since I couldn't stomach much else. Hang in there!

Edited because I forgot to mention preggy pops (I get mine at earthfare but babies and toys r us carry them as well. Amazon also has them) they have seemed to help some and other women swear by them. Good luck!
  • I know how you feel! I lost seven pounds in four days and my doctor put me on phenergan. It has been a life saver!! It does make me tired, but I'm only on the 12 mg dose so I can still function during the day. I work 6 days a week, with sick days being a big no no so I had to have something. If I forget to take it I will throw up, but when I do take it, it works like a charm!
  • I'm sorry you're having such a hard time! With my last, I was sick until about week 23. This time around, I started taking B6 and it's helped. Sometimes, if conventional medicine fails, seeking a qualified naturopath might help. Good luck.
  • That happened to me Zofran stopped working, unisom and B6 stopped working. I was so miserable I cried. Suddenly at 10 weeks the nausea and vomiting disapeared. Now at 11 weeks I can exercise and eat healthy foods again. My heart goes out to you I know exactly how you feel, it's very yucky and miserable hopefully yours gets better with the 2nd trimester.
  • I forgot to add. I'm not sure if the placenta taking over made me better or if it was the fact that I eliminated all processed sugar and junk from my diet again. I was so sick I got lazy and started eating whatever I could keep down mostly carbs and sugary foods.
  • Peppermint candy canes & peppermint gum works for me when my nausea is more than my Zofran can handle.
  • I'm on Zofran but still throw up 1-2 times a day and am nauseous all day. I know the Zofran "works" because without it I throw up ALL day but it still is miserable even on it. ((Hugs)) and here's hoping it doesn't last too much longer.

  • Mine went away last time around 16 weeks. I'm on Diclegis this time around and it is helping a bit. I only (usually) feel sick in the evenings. Last week I ran out and puked in the garage at work. FX everybody's m/s goes away sooner rather than later.
