With the holidays coming up, I figured it would be useful to share any ideas about organizing toys, puzzles, games, and whatnot. What have you all found that has been useful?
Right now we are building a play room with a closet in our basement. I am really excited, but I think it is going to turn into yet another room that I have to clean. Our current debate is whether or not to build shelves in the new closet for toys or to leave it as a regular closet.
We also have a few of floor puzzles with destroyed boxes. I am thinking about mounting some office document holders on the door of my closet to put them in.
I also have the Melissa and Doug puzzle organizer. They sell one at Target that comes with three puzzles. It keeps the majority of my smaller puzzles organized. I bought it about 6 months ago and I've loved it ever since.
I just try to not buy toys for my kid. Just kidding.
Kind of. I only keep a few toys in rotation in the living room at a time. But we don't have a separate play room and I don't want the living room to be a constant toy zone. But I'm also not a sahm and we really aren't home that much, so it works.
I have the cubes also and I love them. I have the 2 by 3 one, but I wish I would have bought the larger one! We have so many large toys in our house that don't fit in those bins though! They are great for the smaller stuff!
We also have the cubes from target. We bought two of the largest size they sold and stacked them. I think they are 6 cubes across. They are in our family room because we do not have a play room. We also have a toy box filled with toys.
Re: Organizational tips
Most of his toys are in the living room so I liked that this stores all the little toys nicely.
