Long MONF

when yall are up in the middle of the night feeding do you leave the lights off and keep it as quiet as possible or do you watch tv? Just curious cause some nights LO will do better with it quiet and sometimes he falls asleep with the tv on.

Sorry if this has been discussed. I can't remember.

I keep everything dark and quiet. I don't typically talk. I have a small lamp at bedside I turn on. I change her diaper then nurse in bed. I turn the lamp off right after we are done feeding while getting her back to sleep. It works for us.
During the day the lights are on and tv or music on most of the day.

That's exactly what I have been doing, but sometimes he wants to feed 30 min each side and I run out of things to look at on my phone ;)
  • At night we start to lower the sound on the TV and turn out any lights that aren't needed.  For the middle of the night feedings I turn the TV on because the sound and light seems to relax her.  Plus after her feedings she has to sit up right for at least 30 minutes because of her reflux so having the TV on helps keep me awake.

  • She's either in bed with me or right next to my bed. We don't have a tv in our room. So I just feed her in the pitch black dark with only my phone as light. I usually bump to pass the time.

  • I'm usually on the bump or watching Netflix. He doesn't normally mind it. I turn the brightness down on my iPad and keep the volume low if I'm watching something.

  • We leave the light on in the bathroom with the door cracked because neurotic me needs to be able to see DS's face at all times (he sleeps next to our bed). For diaper changes I have a small bedside lamp I turn on, then I turn it off to feed him (the bathroom light casts just enough light to see). No TV in our bedroom so I just play on my phone.
