I agree with pp. dd's daycare does a book exchange and a party. Maybe ask if there is a plan for the holidays. If you want to do something you can help with that.
Yes, we always do at the preschool. The school does special activities and snack but they don't do any exchange. It is a small preschool, we've been there 3 years and have always done this for special occasions.
I'm not doing anything individual. I plan to buy a group toy though. Our daycare is part of our school and there's only five kids. So I figure I'll get some building blocks or something like that that they can all play with.
If it was a bigger daycare I wouldn't be doing anything.
In the toddler class they have us bring a gift for our own kid to open, older kids do a gift exchange. If there was no exchange at all I might do something, but for every holiday they always celebrate it at dc and they always walk away with something. As a matter of fact, if I remember right they get a little bag that has some stuff in it for Christmas also-a special craft and a couple little things, I think.
I won't do anything for each individual kid but DD's daycare is a small not for profit place so I may get a toy that all of the children can play with.
That is a great idea, a classroom toy or something!
My DD's preschool is doing a gift exchange, so we got a note saying to bring in a $10 gift for "Susie". If it weren't for that, I would not do anything for the other kids. I will get something small for the teachers though.
Dang. Someone left goodie bags at DS class today. Uuuughhhh candy and more little junk clutter. Of course he was THRILLED but now I feel like I have to do something too. Bah humbug.
Gift bags=even more clutter in my house. Please, just no.
Not just directed at you but I was wondering when the term gift bag is used, do you think of certain items that are given?
I've generally seen candy (he gets more than he should anyway) and little toys that will break, have lots of tiny pieces, get lost, and generally create even more clutter than I already have.
We're going to give the other kids a few Spritz cookies (small cookie press cookies) each. Partially because I don't want all those cookies in our house, tempting me.
Re: will u give small presents/xmas loot for ur child's dc classmates?

I think pencils, erasers, small plastic toys, and candy.
