What are you all getting your DHs? Also how do you keep the gifts a secret? Everything I buy he can technically see how much I spent since the account is shared.
I got DH a pizza stone and DVDs. He knows about the DVDs but I made sure to tell him not to read any Amazon emails since they tell you when a purchase was made, when it ships and when it's delivered. It's nice to know he has one present under the tree that he doesn't know what it is.
I'm going to pick up a growler of craft beer for the hubs. Plus some wet wipes for his car from our LO for car messes. Our accounts are also shared but I'm hoping by the time he's looking at purchases, Christmas has passed.
My DH never looks at the accounts ever so I'm good there. So far I got him a new travel mug, it's gold and says best dad, it's obnoxious and he will love it lol. Also a shirt with a funny saying, and some undershirts and socks.
He knows what he's getting since we are doing the four gift rule. He knows he's getting a book, some clothes, something he needs (cigar cutter), and something he wants (DVD set). He doesn't know what the actual gifts are, though. If that makes sense??
I have been struggling with what to get my husband this year because he always buys himself whatever he wants. I finally decided to make him a photo book on shutterfly of his first year with our daughter. That's something he would never think to do himself and I think he'll love it because he's really sentimental.
ETA if you have a paypal account you can use your paypal credit to get something and then it won't have to be paid until next month. Your hubs won't know where you purchased from either since the payment will go to paypal.
Me:41, DH:41 Positive for MTHFR mutations- one copy C677T, one copy A1298C. One daughter born on Thanksgiving in 2013. Six losses.
Every year I get DH boxers and undershirts. This year he's also getting new shoes, a couple of dress shirts, a new toiletry case.
I also put together for him a package of 12 monthly date nights. DS will be 6 months in January and I would really like to have at least one date night a month. So, I've planned different things for us to do each month. Some of the things include a hockey game, the driving range, movie night, a football game next fall. That's something you could do and you don't necessarily have to buy anything right now, so you wouldn't have to worry about your DH seeing it in your bank account!
I got mine a hydraulic jack (he loves to work on our vehicles himself) and tickets to Cirque's "Kurios" the Saturday after Christmas. Nothing better than a date night!
I bought DH new shoes and DVDs...not the most exciting
I would buy with cash if you are concerned about snooping. Otherwise, use a credit card that isn't itemized.
That's safely more exciting than the long underwear and a remote key finder!!
(should have heard him whining the other day when I "forced" him to use the cooler we got him for Father's Day to take a late lunch & afternoon snack for DD & him because I had no other cooler I could put something in to keep it hot! - but I still Love Mr. Scrooge - even if he is trying to convince me to wait until at least Monday to put the tree in the house!)
