AW: Felt a kick...

So I've been feeling tiny little flutters (or whatever everyone calls them), so I placed my hand on my stomach, and of course everything stopped. So I went along my business, (lurking on this board) when my hand actually felt the movement from my stomach. It was pretty cool. (Unless this is just the preamble to a loud fart, then maybe not so cool) Anyway, just wanted to share. Because I'm a dork.

I don't know why everyone calls them flutters...because it is cuter than saying "it feels like unpainful spasms or quivers?" because that is what it feels like to me.  If I put hubby's hand on my belly and push hard, he may get lucky to feel.  I haven't tried to feel from the outside yet. I should add that I didn't feel anything until 17 weeks 4 days.

  • I swear that organs move 5 feet at a time. A couple of months after DD was born I was taking a bath and I could see bumps and movement to the point the water around my stomach was moving. I flipped.the.fuck.out. I assume it was everything moving back into place.

  • I'm 18 weeks and 4 days, I've barely felt any flutters (that isn't a fart baby) and I'm a FTM so I'm not even remotely worried about movement yet. Everyone has told me it's normal not to feel anything till 20+ weeks as a FTM.
I use my Doppler and that picks up movement, which is exciting to hear with his heart beat but can't feel anything.

It's probably still wayyyy to early to feel/see anything on the outside. Baby isn't nearly big/heavy enough to make a kick that hard yet. Give it a few more weeks!
It all depends on body type, placement of placenta, positioning of mom and baby, etc. DH has been able to feel kicks (and I've been able to see them from the outside) since 16 weeks. But my friend, who's 9 weeks ahead of me, didn't start experiencing that until about 22 weeks.

Okay, have to finally share somewhere. After a few days of regular kicks, I can confirm I finally feel actual kicks (not just gas) on a regular basis! (happy dance)

  • I'm about 18 weeks and have felt little movements (quivers as someone else described it). Nothing on the outside yet though. My DD is dying to feel it and wants to sit with her hands on my belly every night, I really want her to be able to just so she'll get over the excitement of it and we can stop that!

  • Yep. DH would put his hand on my stomach during my first pregnancy and say things like "I'm so in love!!" thinking he was feeling the baby moving.....

Nope it was a fart bubble.
  • I've been feeling little quiver/muscle spasms for a couple weeks now....I tend to notice things early I guess, happens a lot with me. The last week I consistently can feel things but it feels like odd muscle spasms mostly. Some stronger than others and really depends how I'm sitting or laying.

  • At 20 weeks, feeling lots of movement for about 2 solid weeks now. It seems to be getting stronger and longer lasting every day. Very strange and cool to see it from the outside now too!
  • I've felt movement since around 16 weeks. I'm 20 weeks now and the movement is very distinct. My DH has felt it too. It is the most amazing and strange feeling! I can't get enough! :)
