I had a thought...

I know my ovarian reserve is low and that my egg quality is not ideal.  But, USs have shown good follicles, my husband has great sperm, the progesterone tests have indicated that I am ovulating, and we have either had sex or an IUI in the right time frame. We have been TTCAL for 37 cycles. 

I was thinking tonight about whether other options are actually options-- embryo adoption and donor eggs.  But, what if my egg and my DH's sperm are meeting up and fertilization is taking place, but after they hook up they can't find a home.  What if my uterus is just not hospitable anymore?  Do you know of any tests that they can do to see if a uterus is compatible for conception?

I plan to call tomorrow and ask the RE's nurse, but I am curious if this is a possibility or of I am just grasping at straws.

I've thought about this and have done some reading on it. I think the whole concept of something going on at the molecular level of the uterine lining falls into the whole Reproductive Immunology camp. I know some Bumpies who have had uterine biopsies done to test for this sort of thing, usually under RI supervision. 

But I could be wrong, or possibly tipsy (drinking wine over here).

I'm dealing with this now. My doctor thinks I might have a c-scar defect which is causing fluid to pool by my scar in a pocket called an isthmocele making my uterus a hostile environment. Going in for surgery later this morning. I had a uterine biopsy done two months ago where they pinch a bit of your lining to test for inflammation/infection. Mine came back negative but that is one test they can do. It was pretty scary to see the word "surrogate" written on my paperwork for future steps if this doesn't work. My doc said unfortunately there is a lot they can try to do to fix tubes and other issues but the uterus is not as "fixable".
