I'm not going bald...right?

My hair is falling out. A lot. I knew this would happen after Isabelle was born but it feels like I'm going to be bald in about a weeks time. I'm not right? These huge amounts of hair falling out in the shower is normal....

It's freaking me out a little.

Dude I could have typed that! (I actually did a few weeks ago on 0-6 month board) I never had nearly this amount of hair fall out with Jacob...but with Norah I've lost a ton....stupid hormone levels!!

I think the hair loss pp is just wrong.  I mean come on - what else do we have to endure after housing this little person in our stomachs then pushing them out?  Ugh.  My hair loss was horrible and I don't think it slowed down until I got PG with #2.  I still have plenty though.    The whispy hairs that grow back around your face are the BEST too.

I asked the same question when it first happened to me on the 0-6 month board and this lady told me I shouldn't joke about going bald. I wasn't sure if she was kidding or not, but it made me laugh. I lost so much hair I thought I was going to have a bald spot for sure, but so far, my hair's still pretty thick. It slowed down a little about a month ago, but every now and then a lot falls out in the shower. It's okay though, I'm sure you won't be bald.

My hair was falling out really bad with Alex - it did for THREE years!  My hair has never recovered.  It's been different ever since

With Willow it's been fine.  I must have lost it all from the first one - now they just make my hair turn grey :P

Nope not going bald but such a pain!  I'm STILL growing out all the hair I lost and has come back in.  I swear all the hair in front at the hairline and in back was coming out by the handfuls!  And I kept losing it until Cruz was around 6months!  But fear not you won't go bald

It's normal.  For some reason, you dont' shed hair as much while you're PG, so you're supposedly catching back up now.   It shouldnt' last for too long though... a couple of months I think.   If it lasts longer, I would ask your doc to check your thyroid.   But 99% of the time, it's normal, you won't go bald, but watch the drains in your sink and shower for clogs!  uck.

Yeah mine did that big time a few months PP.  It lasted about 2 months and now all is back to normal for me.

It sucks.  Sometimes it'd look like Chewbacca was chillin' out in our tub after I'd shower.  It seems to be slowing down recently though.  My hair still isn't the same as before, it's a lot more dry and my scalp is really dry too.  So unfair...
