TTC after 35

First time poster, new lurker even

My DH and I were married in 8/13.  I and 41.5 (those half-years seem to matter when you are ama) and have never been pregnant or had a child.  We have been working with an RE since 9/14 and have had one unsuccessful round of IUI.  I am in the dreaded TWW from our second IUI (6 days pIUI) and am making myself crazy so I tripped over to these boards and wanted to introduce myself.  Hi!

  • I am truly surprised at how stressful and emotional all of this has been.  I really thought I had accepted my childless fate but since we have started this it has been a roller coaster of appointments, blood draws, hormones, peeing on a stick (am I the only one that does the pee pee dance trying to get the stupid thing out of the package so I can pee on it).  It will be good to have some people to talk to.

Next step after this IUI is IVF which is a little scary.
  • Welcome and good luck! I hope this IUI is the one!!!

  • Welcome.  I hope your IUI worked, but if not, IVF is really--a lot like IUI, actually.  At least if your IUI included injectables.  Good luck!

  • Welcome.
To avoid the pee dance just keep those little plastic cups in the bathroom. Just pee in the cup then dip at your leisure.
    Good luck to you.

Are you using Wondfo OPKs @spartandawg? Some people (especially at the office) just pee in the Wondfo bag to dip. Of course, I would probably end up peeing all over my hand.

    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.
Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.
July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
    12/17/14 - Natural BFP!

  • Welcome to the board and I have my FX for you!

I will be 40 in June, just married a couple of years ago, and we are both childless. I was also thinking I'd be ok childless and feel the same stresses you do since we started trying shortly before we got married.

I hope you find the board helpful *hug*
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • I definitely need to get a pee cup for the bathroom.  Luckily it's an ensuite so we don't have to share and DH should have the sense God gave him not to use the cup for any other purpose!

Thanks for all the welcomes and kind words.  Get to test next Friday!

Sorry to threadjack... but this made me laugh out loud... literally.  Thank goodness I didn't have coffee in my mouth.  I'm lucky to avoid my hand in the morning with a cup, so trying to juggle a bag, in a bathroom stall, and the sticks... that takes talent.  And seriously- there are people that can successfully use a bag? I am in awe.

Off Mirena Nov 2013, On Nuvaring end of Jan, Back off Sept 2014.  Never ending cycle starting end of Sept...
    11/14 Provera failed... cycle continues
12/14 High FSH (57 "midcycle")  OBGYN had no clue... about anything
01/15 More lab results coming back from RE. U/S showed small (1")cyst on left ovary, thin lining, and couldn't locate right ovary so  possibly straight to DE and IVF

Occassionally mess with the chart below to see "what if" and learn (not to make it pretty but because FF stays drunk with me).
