We are Italian, so fish. And fish. With a side of fish. And then 4 more types of fish.
MEEE TOOO... Christmas Eve dinner is my favorite of the entire year.
Same here! I miss going to my aunt's and eating the fish appetizers, fish entrees and various seafood pastas. All served with my grandmother's amazing salad and her chocolate cake. I so wish my boys could have experienced the 50+ people Christmas Eve extravaganza.
My family does lasagna, caesar salad, veggie sides and random appetizers... and lots of desserts and alcohol. There are about 30 of us on Christmas Eve.
Re: OK so you're cooking Christmas Eve dinner for 35 people...
Green vegetable (Brussels sprouts [steamed? Roasted? Glazed?] green salad [with pears? Cranberries? Nuts? Feta?], cabbage [buttered? Pickled?] broccoli, etc)
Root vegetable/squash (potatoes [mashed, scalloped, roasted] sweet potatoes [go well with Brussels sprouts] squash [stuffed or mashed or roasted] etc)
Bread (rolls, dumplings, biscuits...)
And desserts!
I like to pick a couple per category. I cook for between 6 and 12 most years so not as many as you though!
I want to go to Bunkin's house!
