Colic - does anyone have any experience?

When does it usually subside?  My son is 7 weeks & I am suspecting he has it..he cries for hours at a time...will not sleep during the day..cries for sometimes 4 hours straight.....he is just inconsolable...I've never experienced this so I'm wondering when it ends.

My daughter had it from 2 to 6 weeks. She cried from 5 pm to 10 pm every night. The only thing that worked sometimes was a car ride. I would recommend looking into reflux or trying gas drops too. She always seemed super gassy that time of day.

My LO had mild colic.  He wasn't always full-blown crying, but we had to walk with him for hours at a time to prevent that.  I still remember the first time DH and I got to eat dinner at the same time- LO was about 8 weeks old.  He started getting better around 2 months; he would have an occasional good night.  By 4 months it was pretty much gone, although he's still not a great sleeper, and I hear colicky babies often are not.

You're almost through the worst of it- hang in there!

My DD1 had it weeks 3-6 or so. Started 7pm lasted till about 10pm. Nothing helped, car rides were nit an option so we just walked around the apartment rocking and bkuncing her. She was gassy and uncomfortable while screaming. We tried 5 different gas drops/gripe waters, nothing helped. Eventually she grew out of it. I think it's just their immature system reacting that way.

This is exactly what my Ped said to me yesterday when I told her about LO crying for hours at a time every night (last night she was up and screaming from 3:30-7 AM). So as of today We're trying Zantac. LO is 5 weeks old. I really hope it helps!
