Hello, I thought I had at least a few more weeks before I would have a birth story to share but baby had other plans. I've been on hospital bed rest and constant monitoring since Monday due to an incompetent cervix. My bag of water had begun to hourglass out past my cervix with the baby's head adding even more pressure to the area. Yesterday morning he flipped into a transverse breech position which actually helped with the pressure and slowed the thinning out of my cervix. No contractions so we thought we might be able to bake on another week or more. My Mom came to visit and as we chatted I felt a painful sensation when the baby moved. I wouldn't have mentioned it to the nurse but I could tell my Mom was about to take it upon herself to ask about it. As the nurse was adjusting the heart monitor it felt as if she pressed down even a little the baby would slide out! She notified the doctor. Sono showed his little foot past my cervix into the vaginal canal!! He was a footling breech. No more than 20 minutes later I was in the O.R. ready to go. Besides being shocked everything went perfectly! Steven Gregory weighed 3 lbs 10.5 oz. And was over 16 inches long. Love this little guy!!
