  • Good morning! It is 930am so it is still morning. My whole day is behind 45 minutes because my LO actually slept in. I haven't set an alarm in a year and half lol. No big deal I didn't have a meeting just entry month end numbers for accountant.
So...I guess I will stop procrastinating ttyl

  • We leave tomorrow for Overland Park, Kansas to look at homes there and in the nearby Missouri area. I can't believe we move in a month! I'm excited to look at houses, but anxious about the whole process. We need to get our current house sold, but I think it's overpriced. DH disagrees. A couple is coming for a second look this weekend, and I want to drop the house $18,000 just to get them to buy it :p I would do horrible in sales.
@spartanmomma Yay for another Kansas folk! As @citrusfamily said, we'll be neighbors! :) I live in Olathe but work in Overland Park. I love it here. Great place to race a family in my opinion. Why are you moving here? (Sorry if I missed that.) Let me know if you have any questions about the area! ;-)

Question for those considering potty training - do your LO's independently pull pants up and down?

Addie takes her own shirt off before bath if I get her arms out of her sleeves. I've been trying to work on her pulling her pants down, but she's not interested.

J is the same. He loves to take his shirt off once I get the arms out, and he can take off his own socks. He seems to know what to do to pull his pants down but he has trouble gripping the waistband. But once his pants are off he then tries to take off his diaper the same way.

He has shown zero interest in or signs of potty training. Even his main daycare teacher acknowledged he is "not body aware" yet.
So we're not going down that road yet.

Same here! Addie doesn't try to take off her diaper ever. Probably because we use cloth and snaps, but no interest in pulling off pants either. I'm in no hurry to PT.
  • @redrocksmama Congrats! Did you have to request that test or did they just do it?
  • @redrocksmama Congrats on a healthy baby boy!!!!

  • Hi ladies.

Elizabeth just came up to me with her gymnastics leotard and asked to put it on.  I've also put her headband on at least five times in the last half hour.

I'm curious if she is already identifying with girl things, or if a boy (that would in the future identify as a  boy) would play with the sparkly leotard and flowered headband if he had them available.  Anyone have insight?  It's interesting how she has her own little mind and desires.
That's cute! I don't think DS would necessarily want to wear it at this point, but he sure would play with it! DS loves to get into the purses and accessories in my closet that have sparkles.

My niece is graduating with her bachelor's on Saturday.  We're giving her money b/c she's going to grad school and just bought a new laptop.  Thoughts on how much to give?  I'm horrible at this lol

ETA: The "family rule" seems to be $25 for birthdays and $30 for Christmas if that's helpful.
  • @KikiCohen  Our go to amount for weddings and showers is $50 (unless we are very close to them and we will spend more), and for everyone's birthday we usually spend about $20.  I think $50 would be a good amount if that is in your budget. With that said, I know when I graduated, I was thankful for any amount of $ :)
  • @maryannspier I was just about to seach the web for top notch cookie Recipie for a cookie exchange/contest on sat. Please share..I'll send bourbon @gutsymama‌ ask if you can help with a good breastpump. They are super expensive to buy in most other countries.
Interesting! I was thinking something more 'Murrrican and less practical (to go along with a couple nice things too), but that is good to know. I will ask her.

  • Poor Dd is getting 4 teeth (2 of which are molars) and I think HITTING a growth spurt all at once. This means waking up at 430am everyday this week and refusing naps.... needless to say I am in my first baby jail ever! Poor girl.
  • @Spartanmomma I grew up in KC so I will be there occasionally no matter what happens job-wise. Yay!
